A couple of small usability wishes.
Drumrack:
When clicking on the folder to open a sample it uses the global last used location which is fine. But for slots which have existing samples it would be nice if CTRL-Click opened the folder location of that sample.
Piano Roll:
When moving an individual note it will snap to the nearest grid location. To keep the timing you can lasso it first before moving it but it would be quicker if Shift-CLick to move it kept the timing also ( I would use this mainly for rearranging sliced drum loops to keep the groove).

Perhaps it would induce more VST plug in developers to test their software with Orion...

Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)Hi all! (excuse me for my english)
I'm a big fan of the "Orion", and I think it is quite self-contained studio for music creation. So my wishes, just the thought of the possible future development of the program (in any case, it is dear to me programm) Of automation has been said a lot, so for her, I will not dwell on here. I can only assume that the creators of the program are already working on this option, and the fact that this work is a long one, suggests that the producers have approached this issue very seriously. We'll wait ... But I am now about something else ... In the musical creation, one of the important steps is the final processing of the musical material. It would be nice to make the process of finishing the program more detailed. Imagine that you are at this point, you simply pressing a button on the master - channel open detailed visualization master - channel with all its parameters and investment effects. Manipulating various handles effects you immediately see (and hear!) The whole process, with no need to open and close a lot of windows - all already before his eyes. This is similar to a program in the program. With such tools together and qualitative effects as the creators of the "Orion" will free users from many third-party programs, and make the final stage of processing in the magic ... In the attached file, I tried a little visually to show what I mean. Although it may appear differently .... the main principle. Thank you. P. S. In the empty space (between the compressor and reverb), displays the spectrum of frequencies, sound waves, etc., depending on the active unit. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post. Do not twist the handle, if you do not know why you need it!

Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)I remember! Another proposal.
It will be good to have on board such a tool as "Spectrum Analyzer". A very necessary thing. Thank you. Do not twist the handle, if you do not know why you need it!

Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)Still hoping for drag and drop into the sampler
and the bugs I've mentioned in the past. My fear is that many of the Orion improvements are losing out to new plug-ins instead. The next Orion is already waiting for Dune 2. Still, Richard and Co. have to do what they feel is most commercially sensible, not just pander to our wishes
Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)I guess it is already popular enough. Don't you think?
Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)1. Better automation functionality - at least the ability to view automation within the song playlist. This would make dealing with automation a whole lot easier.
2. Ability to group Instruments & audio tracks - Would make it a lot easier to manage projects. My initial idea would be to be able to group items in the playlist into folders and then have a graphical representation on the mixer as to which folder the instrument/audio track belongs to. Both ideas have been discussed to death already. Having flirted with FL Studio and Ableton Live I personally feel that these 2 areas need the most attention and would help my workflow greatly.
Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)In playlist, the channel name box with the same color as patterns.
This could help when you work with a lot of channels, and the track size is too small or the patterns are out of the zoom view. In my situation, this is a problem all the time, because I use MIDI controllers and I need to move some channels to the first 8 slots. With colors, this would be faster and easy. THANKS!!! "Pleeease, bring back ORION!"
Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)Control knobs with aftertouch would be nice.
Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)A drum rack that can be of user defined number of steps - 16 (I know there's the ABCD slider) is a bit stingy when we now have access to much wider monitors.
The ability to group drums and exapnd collapse the group for when you've got a complex percussion part. And the ability to add another drum output - at the moment you have to choose the number when you create the rack and then find you should have had another couple in. Of course some of these may already exist and I've not found them (but that would require reading the instructions...) Hide unused strips on the mixer (e.g., you've created a part using a VST but then find that you want to use a different instrument or instruments so take the original as their midi input. Don't necessarily need to see the original instrument. Of course this would be remedied if we could non-destructively swap instruments. ta Andy
Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)Mackie Control Support. This will make easy to work with motorized faders and use more advanced features.
I think this will never be developed, but... is a Wish "Pleeease, bring back ORION!"

>>> The Antidote as a VST/AU plugin YES ! I just had the idea to write this but you´ve already done - great I´m also very interested to get the antidote as a VST Plugin ... -> a very cool and inspirating synth which actually should be part of OrionPro // I was a little bit disappointed when I first saw that this thing only comes 4 Reason ... of course it is definitely a good business with Reason, but be faithful of your superlatively Orion System and please give us this ruling treasure ! 8^) I know it´s your affair, but just think about it ... there are certainly many members who really want this too ... and finally we´ll finance your work with the purchase of this synth (not a perfect english and many words for this topic ... but please realise the message of this great desire - If it is possible I hope you´ll do this 4us
Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)An easier Automation Method would be nice
Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)I too have some wishes/ideas for a future update. Just in case Synapse (Rich) would run out of ideas of what to add
Scissor tool (with a vertical line) for splitting audio clips in the playlist. The lasso tool works, but requires a start and end point and is a bit of a hazzle to use in a cramped area. Possibility to drag audio clips from one audiotrack to another. I would love offline processing. An "apply effect" in the context menu together with normalize, reverse etc. Or can Orion automatically reload samples that has been saved in an external tool (Edit with..) ? I couldn't get this to work. Also would love Fade In/Out (linear/curved) and clip level for each audio clip. For automation, a generator without a mixer channel and with maybe 4 nameable knobs & 4 buttons that can be assigned to any parameter on any device, including the mixer. Would be kind of like the midi out generator, but which works on all devices. I do manage to get my automation done using the midi out generator though. Adjusting the length of a note when inserting it when holding mouse button down and dragging. Instead of a 2 click operation, click insert & click drag. A folder track, as have been mentioned. Mixer volume/pan knobs for each generator on the tracks in the playlist. This opens a can of worms of course when it comes to multi outs vsti's. Possibility to set an individual color on clips/blocks in the playlist, even on the same track.
