;o)
I'm not aware of any PDFs during installation, it doesn't get copied into Orion's folder. The only help to this date is the help file that you get.
If I hope to hide a mixer channel, then it's most obvious to right click on that and hope it hides
same for the EQ.
Right clicking on the mixer, the EQ or the EQ LED gives no option to hide/un-hide. Perhaps it should do?
Perhaps. Could be a better way to get to things than where they currently are, though I think it was made to be consistent with everything else, ie. all module specific operations for instruments and effects are there, so why not for mixer and master.
At the end of the day, a more intuitive system will have more users - good for all
My last few experiences with Orion have been
- the drum machine 'fit' causing a bug
- the sampler filter cut-off with a bug (may not be Orion's fault)
- and several changed aspects of the mixer etc not being intuitive
It's still my #1 software, but comments here are designed to help, not just be critical
I use cutoff on sampler quite often, never had issues with it.
And I'm really not trying to be critical. Ok, maybe I was, but it's not all intentional. I also want to understand the intuitive ways. If I think about it, placing show/hide options in the titlebar since it is mixer-wide thing, not just a channel specific (like if you'd want to hide stuff on just one channel). It also avoids any screw-ups if you accidentally click on something else. So, don't know, might be just me. But I am interested in hearing what you think about your last point, the aspects of the mixer being non-intuitive. What they are, and how do you think they should be.

using a software : yes, reading a manual : no
The entire software is in english, so how are they using it if they don't understand a thing? Randomly clicking, right? Well, that's what would get people to find things (even those hidden ones) like Hide EQ. But then again, if a person doesn't know a single word in English, they wouldn't know what it is they have found anyway. So, there's a bit of a conundrum. How do you effectively use a software in English, if you understand none of it?
Plus, not reading English is hardly an excuse nowadays: http://translate.google.com
Just look at the other thread from the Chinese guy, I think he did a decent job, at least someone understood some of what he said. Little by little, word by word, people still communicate, so it really isn't a problem to come here and ask. Of course, I am not referring to anyone here in particular, especially not Traumatek since he did ask, and that's what this forum is partly for.
On the other hand, you're not an Englishman, and neither am I. I don't think there's a school in the world where kids don't learn an additional language. Ok, maybe there are, but still, internet can supplement what you don't learn in school. I started learning English when I was 9. Kids here now have English and/or German as mandatory language, in addition to native, plus Hungarian as optional. But even with that, my 12 year old nephew is effectively using Google Translate for text he doesn't understand
