If you were performing live you can just use the busses to send to a different channel of your interface.

It's unlikely to happen, at least not any time soon, IMO.

Implementing surround mixing would require specific hardware on the user side (stereo out sound cards won't work with that), and I'm not sure how well ASIO drivers would work with it either. Other than that, it would require additional proprietary encoder licenses, which would most likely bring Orion's price up drastically. Since there are many to choose from, implementing all of them would really be insanely expensive.

I imagine only people who ever looked inside the Skins folder would know about it, since it was never used within Orion.

Agreed. I haven't been there yet, so I don't know much about it.
