VSF-2 Variable State Filter - Suggestion for a future Rack Extension.
Modeled with the same detail as the the AF-4 but modeled after the Oberheim SEM filter.
2-pole filter with Notch balance (smooth fading from LP to Notch to HP), switch for 1-pole BP mode.
Behavior like the original SEM filter. No self-oscillation but also no volume drop when resonance is applied.
FRONT PANEL
INPUT - Level/Drive. 50% and above starts to distort the signal
FILTER - TYPE Notch Balance Knob (fully CCW is LP, fully CW is HP, 12'o'clock is notch.
FILTER - TYPE BP switch (enables BP, disables Notch knob)
FILTER - Cutoff
FILTER - Resonance
BACK PANEL
INPUT - Main signal goes here. Stereo
SIDECHAIN - Audio Input in Stereo for FM of the Filter Cutoff Freq. w. associated CV trimmer
CV INPUT - Cutoff
CV INPUT - Resonance
CV INPUT - Notch Balance (Imho great to be able to modulate this)
OUTPUT - Main output. Stereo
OUTPUT - BP Output. Stereo (great for running LP/NOTCH/HP out of the Main Output and BP at the same time!)
Or go bananas and put 4 outputs there, once for each mod (LP,HP,Notch, and BP)
Ok, I admit that I'm passionate about synths (a bit of a loon really ), but here's a crude looking mockup:
Cheers!
