Its not only the beta team who use Dune, and not only the beta team who feel the same.

Might as well fill in the dp  I read on kvr from someone that it would take about a month to code Dune 2 to be skinnable. Is that right? That seems like a lot to ask for, gotta wonder if it's 'worth' the effort for Richard. But lets hope he's feeling generous one day soon :xmas:

If it was made skinable from the start, it wouldnt take as much effort as it might do now.

Is it a matter of volunteers helping rewrite the code to be skinnable?

Some people want DUNE 2 to be skinnable.......posting that request at the forums of the company that develops DUNE2 makes perfect sense.

Would it be my number one feature request for DUNE 2 ? No. But I'd still love to see some alternative skins and as BONES pointed out the current skin sells the whole package short. In other words as I've been saying for quite a while the quality of the default skin does not live up to the ultra high quality of DUNE 2's sound........

Again there are some highly talented GUI artists out there. I'd love to see what they could create. It could only add value to D2........

No, Rich and Marcin are completely capable of writing the code it's just a matter if they think it's a priority or not. :)

It's all good, I get that, and while I think the skin is ok, I do think it could be much better. Actually, I'd like to skin DUNE2 as well

But here's where this all seems like a "blame and shame" thing:
1. It is not posted in a wishlist forum to be considered as a request.
2. The title doesn't really sound as a request (at least to me) - otherwise it would say "Please make DUNE 2 skinnable" or something like that
3. This topic is opened by a beta-member who asked the same question many times on the beta forum, but didn't get the desired answer... or one at all. Can't remember if Rich commented on that - I do remember he said he'd like to make it skinnable. Beat me why that hasn't happened.

But, see where this kind of rubs off as a topic meant to blame the devs and demand a public explanation? Maybe I'm just getting it that way, I dunno :?

Rich and Marcin have been very, very quiet since the release of Dune 2. Hopefully that means they are working hard on the next Orion update. Of course, it could just as easily mean they have completely lost interest (and who would blame them?).
