First off, Just wanted to say this forum REALLY needs to enable searching for posts.. It's pretty much insane trying to find anything relevant to EKS Pro when more than 75% of the posts are for DUNE2.
That said, I've been using EKS Pro in a Ableton Live drum rack as my main kick synth and run into this problem related to EKS always accepting MIDI input from devices.
When I trigger other samples in the drum rack, parameters of EKS Pro get changed and my settings are lost/scrambled inadvertently.
I can't trigger my hi-hats or snares without the pressure of the pads changing dials in EKS Pro.
Looked up in the manual and see there's a MIDI Control chart.. but I want to disable this completely so values aren't being changed without my knowledge using my midi controllers.
Any ideas? Would love to keep EKS loaded and not replace it with a rack of samples to avoid this problem

Re: EKS Pro disable MIDI input? There's a search box next to the new topic button at the top of each sub-forum.
Do you have MIDI in for EKS pro set to omni by any chance? If so, change that to a specific channel and see if that helps.
Re: EKS Pro disable MIDI input?
Thanks, for the life of me I didn't see it - was expecting one on the main index, and was overwhelmed by all the dune2 posts I had to scroll by to even realize the subforums had it. Apologies!
I've got a Ableton Live setup to receive MIDI from my QuNeo, and the input channel set to "All Channels" which is the default setting for Live. I can select Ch 1 from the dropdown and get the same behaviour, but Ch 2 - 16 no input is registered from my QuNeo to EKS Pro Many of my other plugins allow knobs & faders to be midi mapped by right clicking the knob and then moving the desired knob. I would just love to disable hard-wired MIDI inputs if possible at all, or in a future update.
Re: EKS Pro disable MIDI input? You need to make sure the trigger and eks are on the same midi channel, and nothing else is on that channel

Re: EKS Pro disable MIDI input?
Tried putting both MIDI controller on ch2 and input to EKS from ch2 and getting the same results. Anyone here use Ableton Live with EKS and might be able to shed some light here? Never had issues with other VSTs prior to this, so pretty certain I've got things setup correctly on my end. I'd happily be corrected though
Re: EKS Pro disable MIDI input? As long as you use midi notes only for the drum rack it all should be ok, otherwise only what you can do now is to just not use the CCs listed in the EKS Pro MIDI Control Chart. EKS Pro has a fixed midi map at this moment.
Re: EKS Pro disable MIDI input?if everything else is on a diff MIDI channel it should not affect EKS tho....

Re: EKS Pro disable MIDI input?I looked up this controller of yours and it seems to send midi cc-s with all the pads being pressed. Probably some expression thing. Try to change from drum mode to the other.
You could try to use a midi message filter like this one: http://music.service-1.de/html/midi-filter.html It is probably windows only but you might find what you need.
Re: EKS Pro disable MIDI input? Thanks for the replies everyone.
Unfortunately part of the allure to the QuNeo is the expression data being sent from the pads to control x, y, pressure which make having these options control macros of a drum rack within Ableton Live really useful and part of my workflow currently. Was really just hoping I could add a flag in a configuration file or something to thwart the fixed midi map of EKS Pro, since it's the smallest part of my setup that would need a change to essentially be perfect. Re-designing my midi templates to not use the cc's in the QuNeo would be a kind of solution, but not ideal since many of my older projects have my current mapping, and work quite well when EKS isn't involved. For the time being I'm just re-sampling EKS and loading the wav into my drum racks. Not as smooth as I'd like, but it works and there's little room for error or problems. Will look into playing around with changing cc's if I get a chance, but an option to disable the fixed midi map would be ever so useful! cheers & thanks
