Hello everyone,
Did a quick search on here, but couldn't find anything for my question.
Does anyone know if it's possible to control the wavetable selection via a midi controller knob or button? Just to be clear I'm not referring to the wavetable "Position" knob.
I would preferably like to set up either two buttons (up/down through list) or a knob to scroll through the different wavetables available. I already have a knob on my midi controller set to sweep through the WT Position.
This makes fine tuning or finding/designing a sound much more efficient. With the ability to midi map the WT selection menu this would speed up workflow tremendously and make the process that much more fun!
This seems to be an concern and problem for most synths that have dozens/hundreds of waveforms/table in drop down menus.
If anyone has some insight if this could be done I would very much appreciate any help.
Btw the controllers I'm using are.
Ableton Push
Liine Lemur (iPad)
TouchOSC (iPad)
Korg nanoKontrol 1
Native Instruments X1 mk1
Best,

Re: Midi mappable WT drop-down menu selection?Unfortunately not. It would be nice if we could though
Re: Midi mappable WT drop-down menu selection?Although I don't understand it it seems like you can have folders inside the waveforms folder.
Documents\Synapse Audio\DUNE 2\Wavetables etc Somehow it is listed last in the massive menu I have of waveforms - the last item is a folder of waveforms. Not sure if the date of the folder is the reason it is listed last. Might be useful for organisation, less scrolling to the bottom etc.
Re: Midi mappable WT drop-down menu selection? Also, If I'm not mistaken, the vst searchs for a waveform if you have moved it about in the folders ?
Re: Midi mappable WT drop-down menu selection?Another pain is that in my setup using reaper as my daw, when I add a new waveform the vst has to be reloaded including the daw. I have to close down the whole prog (the whole of reaper)and restart all over. Then the waveform is listed in the vst menu.
Re: Midi mappable WT drop-down menu selection?
Not sure what you mean here. All my wavetables are organised in folders, and there are lots of them they're all sorted alphabetically.
Re: Midi mappable WT drop-down menu selection? The default installation of dune 2, I think, had just a big folder called wavetables, with no subfolders. It wasn't clear that you could have subfolders in it.
I have a subfolder in wavetables called myfirst which was listed last in the menu, I changed the name to _myfirst and it still is listed last. Seems like the top wavetables (in alphabetical order) are listed before the subfolder wavetables (the subfolders).
Re: Midi mappable WT drop-down menu selection? What if you put all the factory WTs in a subfolder and name it Factory. Would it then place your custom folder on top ?
Re: Midi mappable WT drop-down menu selection?Yes that works, you can move wt to the folders inside the wavetables folder. strange thing is I had a folder called 'default' inside the wavetables folder and on the menu there was 'Default' and 'default' - the 'Default' menu entry being the main wavetables folder contents of .wt files. The other folders were listed below the 'Default' menu entry. This inner folders ability doesn't seem to be mentioned in the manual.
