I'm a bit confused on using custom WTs in Dune 2.
First - What format does a WT need be in in order for it to be used in Dune2?
Second - Since Dune2 doesn't have its WT editor to create a WT, what is the best way to do that? If I have some WAV files I want to use as a WT, what do I need to do to get them to show up as options when selecting a WT to create a patch? I'm not clear on this from the manual and seeing some videos.
Third - If I create my own WT, say a group of 10 or 20, and then create patches from scratch using them, how do I share those with others? I have easily set up a special folder for my patches, but I'm unclear about what to do if I want to use a custom WT to create patches, and where all that data is supposed to go.,
Thanks
Donnie

Re: Questions on WT Files1. needs to be. wt (you need the wt app)
2. you need wav files in mono/16/44 and 2480 samples long 3. to share patches with your own wt's, just include the wt. i dont have a link for the wt app, it wasnt public, but Rich did put a link up at kvr a while back if you can find it. Re: Questions on WT Files
Thank you Kriminal. I'll see if I can locate the app you mentioned. When you say just include the wt...is that in a separate folder? Does that folder go into the same folder as the patches, or is there a WT folder and a patch folder? Thanks!
Re: Questions on WT Filesseparate folders, but if you are sharing, just put a note telling ppl to put included wt into relevant folder

Re: Questions on WT Files
Thank you. I did find the editor app. Now I have to figure out how to import a WAV file into it. I tried one that is 16bit, 44k etc. But when I try to load it into the app, I get a pop up that says the file has be 16bit, 44k PCM up to 131,072 samples. Well, my WAV is all that (around 88,000 samples if I recall), but it won't let me load it in. Not sure what that means or even how I'm supposed to fix it. Any ideas? Thanks again. Donald M
Re: Questions on WT Filesare you talking about audio term app?
that's not the synapse one, i have no idea how that works as i said, wavs need to be 2048 samples in length Edit: found it https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopi ... 0#p6953070 Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

Re: Questions on WT Files
Yes, that is the very app I downloaded and the very link I downloaded it from and got the alert window shown below. I got the same message when I made sure my WAV file was exactly 2048 samples. The alert says file must be "up to 131,072" samples and not exactly 2048. Its confusing. I even tried it 32bit float and got the same thing. The audio file source is from an audio track in Pro Tools 2018.7. I sliced the audio sample to a 2048 sample size and exported as a 16bit 44.1k WAV (and a 32bit float WAV). Then tried to load into the app, and got this. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: Questions on WT Files
That's what I thought. But it doesn't explain why I can't import my wav file into the WT editor. Is there a manual for this out there somewhere? Video showing how to use it? I can't figure out what I'm supposed to do!
Re: Questions on WT Filesyou load a 2048 sample by clicking on a cell

Re: Questions on WT Files
Which is exactly what I did do and got the error message. It can't be this hard to make a WT for Pete's sake! I tried clicking on the cell, I try using the "Load" button at the top of the editor app. I tried 16 bit AND 32bit float formats. And I made sure the file was 2048 samples exactly! Nothing I do will let me load in the WAV file. Its frustrating! I wish there was a short "how to" vid out there somewhere. If there is, I haven't been able to find it!

Re: Questions on WT Files
My sample was exactly what is required: mono, 16bit (or 32bit floating point), 44.1k sample rate, 2048 samples, WAV file. Even the original audio file from which I sliced the sample was recorded in mono, so it was never converted from stereo to mono either.
Re: Questions on WT FilesDonnie, do you want to PM me with a link to your file and I'll see what's wrong with it? And fix it if necessary.
Re: Questions on WT Files
Thank you, that would be great. However, I can't do that at the moment because I'm away from my studio and won't be back in it until probably tomorrow. I'll do it when I am back in . Thank you.
