Thoughts on D3 Preset Browser

Postby zvenx » Wed Dec 19, 2018 1:12 pm

For me, mainly as a preset user, I always found the preset browser in D2 one of its biggest flaws.
I was surprised to see in D3 it is the same browser.

Whether being able to navigate between Preset Types (having to go to the top and go thru subfolders to move say from D3 Bass to D3 Pads), not being able to favourite/star the patches I actually want to use again and again, not being able to search by name, or for some tag browsing (which I admit is not that important for me as much as the others in this list).
I find D3's biggest limitation is too the preset Browser.
I am curious what others think.
I am extra curious what Richard thinks:
1) Do you think the current browser is fine.
2) Could use some improvement but not a major priority.
3) You have major plans for its overhaul but haven't gotten to it yet?
etc.

thanks

I, too, fine the browser annoying. I create a lot of my own patches, which I put in a special folder. The only way I can audition more than one patch is to go back to "Load Patch", find the folder, and then select another patch. Why not make it so whatever folder you are currently in is the one you can switch patches in, no matter what folder it is? That would make more sense and save a lot of time!

As it is now, the browser feature slows workflow and can get annoying.

Needs a modern browser like U-he, or Arturia. Same with mod matrix. If these get sorted it will make Dune 3 one of the best synths for programming. Not that it isn't amazing already! :D
