How to make Dune not respond to K2000 SysEx MIDI messages?

Postby xxxy » Thu Oct 10, 2019 1:24 pm

Greetings, is there a way to make Dune 3 not respond to SysEx MIDI messages from Kurzweil K2000? Thank you.

I believe Dune responds to some SysEx messages (which is basically an extended set of MIDI messages) so it can be controlled through physical synthesizers. However simple operation such as changing some settings on my Kurzweil K2000 (like changing MIDI mode to Local for example) does random unwanted changes to my Dune like preset change. It happened to me before that I am working on a sound in Dune and all progress is lost due to unexpected changes done by simple operations on my K2000.

ok, so you are using the K2000 as a controller kybd?

not familiar with that synth myself, but you could try a midi filter plugin as a workaround

what host/OS are you using?

I am using K2000 as a MIDI keyboard in this case. Currently using Cubase 10 on Windows 10.

EDIT: Found a solution. There is a way to disable program change messages (along with several other types of messages such as panel buttons (as SysEx) and MIDI volume) in MIDI section on K2000 itself. Thank you for your help.
