Can't load DUNE Fl Studio Windows 7 64-bit

Hello,

I downloaded the demo of DUNE (seems to be only a 32 bit version available, which is the one I want to use).

I am able to launch the demo of DUNE in FL Studio 9.1 on Windows XP

However, I am unable to load DUNE in FL Studio 9.1 on Windows 7 64-bit.

FL Studio 9.1 is a 32-bit app. I install DUNE. It goes in my (X86) VST folder. I scan plugins in FL Studio. FL recognizes DUNE. I launch DUNE. It says "Opening Fruity Wrapper" and nothing happens. The GUI won't load. After a while, I click anywhere on the FL Studio GUI and FL crashes. Any idea what's going on? I ran Fl Studio as an administrator as well to see if that would make a difference but it doesn't..

I think that was a pretty good bug report / request for support. Wrapping plugins can be a pain in the behind from what I gather. Hope your situation is resolved.

I'll talk to the FL guys, it works here (FL Studio 9 & Windows Vista 64)

Note a 64-bit version will be released very soon, but that will require a 64-bit host so it won't help with this issue here.

Thank you. I hope I'm not the only one that can't install it. It worries me a little that you are able to install it on Vista 64...

For what it's worth, I have Junglist installed (got it in CM magazine) and it works no problem..

Something really weird.. the same porblem happens with the eks9 demo and the Xpoly demo

Toxic and Hydra load fine.

I notice it says the demos require SSE2 to work. I'm pretty sure I have it. It's an i7 920. Anyway, it's not looking good since 3 of your demos won't install on my PC, I am thinking it's a problem on my end..

But I don't have issues installing other vst's.. these are the first that are giving me such problems and I have installed other demos from other companies these past few days which work fine. I don't know.. a little at loss..

From the specs sheet, i7 920 has SSE4.2 support, so yes, you do have SSE2

DUNE does not require SSE2, it works even on older AMD Athlons.

I sent an email to Image Line devs, perhaps they can shed some light on this.

you miss a library use Process Monitor from sysinternals to determine the culprit !

Thanks. I just tried Process monitor and have no idea what to do with it. I am not that good with computers I'll wait and see what the Image-Line answer is..

when you launch Process monitor it start to display everything running on your computer
click on filter
click on architecture to select Process Name type orion.exe
click on add
click on apply
the monitoring stop
click OK
launch orion
insert dune
look for the problem in Process Monitor

replace orion.exe by the name FL process
should be flstudio.exe, check in the task manager

Answer from Fred (IL developer). He says it works for him in Win7 x64, and suggests to try it in MiniHost, perhaps because it works in a similar way as the FLS wrapper.

Sorry for the delay.

I've tried the demo version here in FL 9.1 and 9.6 in Windows 7 x64 and it seems to work well.

I'm not sure what the problem could be, but I'd first have him check if it works in other hosts (for example Tobybear's MiniHost).
