Wasp should be for sale too

Postby musicale » Fri Dec 17, 2010 9:43 pm

I wish Wasp would be sold as a VST.
Stunning quality and simplicity. Any chance?

But isn't the IL WASP a more primitive version HYPNAGOGIA?

Dune can do anything the WASP can do, soundwise. So it would be like Dune Super Lite with a different skin. Btw, I'll have a hard time overhauling Orion's generators so that they do something Dune cannot do.

DUNE for sure.... but Wasp has such a quality sound it's just a nice thing to have around elsewhere.
You know, out of FL the only thing I took with me was Sytrus which got wiped out by BLUE.
Orion's WASP got me going again and now DUNE! I'm beginning to wonder about v8; what is going to wipe out.

as good as Wasp is, i think its far to simple for todays market, ppl want features and then more features....thats just the way it is...

I honestly I can't keep up with all the features. If I did I would not be able to play unless I'm a sound designer.
Back to DUNE. Thank you.

It is very interesting, how peeps require the newest and best all the time, even without mastering prior technology.

While Duen has caused severe creaming here, I think the Wasp will always be my workhorse as I can wrench forth from its bowels the sounds that I WANT.

Exactly. Having the most flexible, best sounding synth in the universe doesn't matter if it takes you hours every time you need a new sound from it. DUNE does pretty well at being user-friendly, considering what's on offer, but it could still be much better in the usability stakes. e.g. fewer Mod Matrix slots on a single page, no effects, more compact UI without the paged centre screen. I'd even drop one LFO and one envelope as 90% of presets only use one or two of each. Unfortunately, prospective customers still have the same mindset they had in the days of hardware and so expect any new instrument to be packed with features they will never use.

There's both hardware that is simple (TB-303, Juno, etc) and hardware that is complex (Blofeld, TI, any Modular). I agree though that there's potential for something between the WASP and DUNE.
