Does Orion support 64 bit waves plugins?
I tested shelled 32bit ones with current 32bit available demo and they work Ok.
Any, user or developer reply is welcome

Re: WavesI tested one of the "one knob" plug ins one or two years ago. It did not work.
Re: WavesThe only WAVES that I can use ok in Orion (32bit) are the old DX versions. The new ones didn´t work.
I try to use de the WAVES VST unpacker where the waveshell.dll is splitted in individual VSTs, but also, didn´t work. "Pleeease, bring back ORION!"
Re: Waves
As I said above, only works the old DX versions with Orion (32bits). "Pleeease, bring back ORION!"
Re: WavesI had problems with Orion 7.6 and Waves VST plugins until I discovered jBridge:
http://jstuff.wordpress.com/jbridge/ Worked like a charm. The only thing is that they won't work as inserts without first wrapping them in VSTs I made with an older version of Synthedit -- I basically embedded the Waves VST inside a VST I made with Synthedit that has 3 buttons to route the audio -- left channel only, right channel only and stereo. The problem I've found is that newer versions of Synthedit (after 1.015) won't let you create a functioning subpanel that shows a VST's display. It may be worth it for someone to contact Jef McClintock about getting that copy (or at least permission for someone to send a copy), then I'm sure I can find the SE file somewhere... (It's REALLY simple...like three buttons and a window. This is also how I got my Avox Vocal bundle to work for Orion, too.) http://www.synthedit.com/
Re: WavesMight have to try this, I also reported this problem years ago, and I still use the old Waves DX plugins. Although I do remember having some sort of conflict problem with some piece of software having both the old DX and new VST plugins installed at the same time. I still use the Waves DX plugins a lot.
Re: Wavesdmassive... you're welcome! Yeah, Orion is way, way too awesome to not be able to make super complex templates without any of my Waves plug-ins.
kmatm... even though there seems to a lot of "DX plugin hatred" going around the World Wide Web, I've found that some of those DXs and DXis are actually less resource intensive than their VST and VSTi counterparts (like by an entire 1% for Clone Ensemble and Pro-53) -- and some VSTs won't save, are missing functions, or just crash more than the DX versions -- and not necessarily in Orion, but also in Project5 and Magix stuff, too. I tend to wonder if DX is just more integrated into the OS... after all, it is Microsoft. (That may not be a good thing, however...) Re: WavesWell, I don't know if anyone else using jBridge has had this problem, but when I load Orion with the new plugins that jBridge builds, there are a lot of auxhost.exe processes running. After Orion is loaded, these are only wasting resources, however.
If you're interested, and you don't mind a little batch editing, then here's a little code I've written to shut them all down rather than manually having to shut them off from the task manager. (This is for Windows 7.) First, if you haven't already, you'll want to configure Windows so that it shows your file extensions. This can be done through the "Tools>Folder Options...>View" tab. You will want to make sure that "Show hidden folders and files" is checked. Then (on the same page) you will want to make sure that "Hide extensions for known file types" and "Hide protected operating system files" are both unchecked. Okay... (sorry for the Win7 tutorial for newbies, but having remembered being a newbie, I thought I should just have everything in one spot to speed things up for those who are still learning.) Open up notepad and copy and paste this code:
Then save it as "taskkill auxhost.bat" (or whatever you want to name it). Make sure that it is saved with the ".bat" extension and not ".bat.txt" or any other extension. Then copy and paste the file to your "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\" folder (if your Windows is on a different drive than C:, then use whichever drive your particular Windows is on.) Then, right click on the file you just created and click "Create shortcut" from the menu that appears (the context menu). Grab that shortcut and move it to your desktop. Next time you start up Orion and you have all those pesky auxhost.exes running after you close it, then just click that shortcut and it should get rid of them pretty quickly! Re: WavesThanks for all replies, I was AFO (Away from Orion) this whole summer. The synthedit fix maybe is Ok as is using Blue Cat Audio Patchworks wich is able load all of them.
