DUNE 2 LFO & MSEG RetriggeringIs there any way to make an LFO or MSEG not retrigger/restart for every note played? For instance, I set up an MSEG to control the Filter Cutoff over a 2 bar midi region I wrote in Logic Pro, but the envelope restarts on every note (unless I play legato) and I want it to run through the whole 2 bar MSEG envelope I drew in DUNE.

Re: DUNE 2 LFO & MSEG RetriggeringI've tried and thought that would work too, but the envelope still restarts for every note played unless they're overlapping.
Re: DUNE 2 LFO & MSEG RetriggeringGot the same problem with the MSEGs.
And the LFO gets retriggered by every note, when in sync mode. This also shouldn't happen, or at least there should be an option to turn this off.
Re: DUNE 2 LFO & MSEG RetriggeringIs the LFO in poly mode?

Re: DUNE 2 LFO & MSEG Retriggeringno. when it's in poly mode the LFO has no effect at all.
Re: DUNE 2 LFO & MSEG RetriggeringLFOs are global mode when Poly is off. When Sync is enabled while Poly is off, however, the LFO will retrigger when no note was pressed previously. MSEG will behave the same way when Loop mode is active. The idea here is to make sure everything is in sync during sequencing and when playing live, e.g. you hold one note with some rhyhtmic modulation on it, then add additional notes and all is perfectly in sync.
We've planned an option to tie the LFO/MSEG to the host sequencer PPQ, which I think is what you want. From our first tests this did not work reliably in all hosts, so we preferred a robust solution to start with, and which works both for sequencing and playing live. Admin - Synapse Audio Software

Re: DUNE 2 LFO & MSEG RetriggeringI'm not sure if I understand correctly.
Let's take an example: I have an Arpeggiator pattern (in midi, not in the arpeggiator), and an MSEG with a length of 8 bars. Set to loop. In this case it's not possible to have the MSEG to run for 8 bars, because it gets retriggered with each note. Same with the LFO (when it's in sync mode and set to 8/1). There's no way to make that work right now? Hm, I would say this is essential. Even Sylenth1 is capable of that, reliable, in every DAW. Get to work!
Re: DUNE 2 LFO & MSEG RetriggeringI just tried it with sylenth1. It doesn't work there either. Funny, I never realized that...
Re: DUNE 2 LFO & MSEG Retriggering@zrv: I found a workaround for the problem. Let's say you have an 8 bar region with some scattered notes. The MSEG needs one long note to not get restarted. Have a silent note running throughout the region.
What I tried, is this. 1 8bar note, very deep down, with a velocity < 100. Turn the amp level to zero. In the mod matrix have "Vel>100 +100 Amp level". Make sure all the other notes have a velocity > 100. This is not 100% satisfactory, though. Maybe someone else can come up with a better way to have a silent note... Or maybe Richard can come up with a feature that helps here... Eg. A mod-matrix option "Vel=0 -> Note Volume = 0" Last edited by drishti on Sun May 25, 2014 11:41 am, edited 1 time in total.
Re: DUNE 2 LFO & MSEG Retriggering
Yep, most synths don't seem to sync to the PPQ clock (and btw this only works when the sequencer is running, PPQ is usually not sent when the sequencer is idle). The plugins that do use PPQ sync cause trouble in some hosts, which is why we think it should be optional. The major hosts seem to do fine though, also our own host Orion. So we're going to pursue this further, no worries Admin - Synapse Audio Software

Re: DUNE 2 LFO & MSEG Retriggeringit's working with Dune1 and you can press reset to behave like Dune2

Re: DUNE 2 LFO & MSEG Retriggering@drishti: thanks for finding a workaround, but I think I'm just going to stick with using Logic's automation for now until the option that Richard is talking about is added.
Re: DUNE 2 LFO & MSEG RetriggeringIs there a way to do the same in DUNE 2 as the offset knob does on Sylenth1? (adds a
positive or negative constant value to output of the LFO)
Re: DUNE 2 LFO & MSEG Retriggeringwhat is it offsetting?
