VST automation

I would like to know how I can automate VST parameters, within the event/song editor.

When I right click a nob, i get a "Link to next midi controller" message.

Any help is much appreciated!

Hi there, welcome to the forum.

Right clicking works only for internal generators, not for VSTs.

There are 2 ways to automate something within Orion:

1. Use Song Events:
You can open up the Event Editor by selecting the instrument/effect you want to automate, and then go to View -> Event Editor, or just press CTRL+E when you bring it up. Once you get there, you'll see a drop-down list of all the available parameters for that instrument/effect in the lower left corner of the EE window.

2. Use Pattern Events (works only for instruments):
Bring up the instrument up, and click on the Piano Roll (PR) icon, or just press TAB key on your keyboard, and then on the bottom right part click on the 2nd icon after the scrollbar (counting from the right, that's 4th icon). This will bring up the pattern EE where you can automate not only parameters for that instrument, but also its mixer channel events as well.

And, as always, a friendly reminder... if you're unsure about something, check in the manual/help. It might just save you some time
