Anyone know a shortcut for thisI want to stop everything on Bar 112 from playing except Ultran #1 Any ideas on how to do this? I have thought of: 1. Tried to use automation on the SOLO on Ultran #1, but it's a serious pain in the arse getting this how I want it. 2. make copies of every pattern and just cut them (either change the bar, or drag the pattern smaller) Working on this track just now, so if anyone has any ideas, let me know!
Re: Anyone know a shortcut for thisI would just delete or move all patterns except Ultran from that point. If you want to stop FX tails, you will have to automate Mixer volume or Mute buttons. Dont know any other way inside Orion.

Re: Anyone know a shortcut for thisKriminal,
I just want all the other patterns to stop one bar rather than moving Ultran along one bar (which I am assuming you meant). I couldn't be arsed copying all the patterns to new ones just to cut a bar, so decided not to have that section in it. If the automation tool was a bit more intelligent, and you didn't have to drawn a graph to turn a button off, I probably could have done it there. (Turn Solo on for a bar, then off again next bar).
Re: Anyone know a shortcut for thisNo, i meant drag all the other patterns along one bar.

Re: Anyone know a shortcut for thisOk, but that changes all the patterns across the whole song?
Re: Anyone know a shortcut for thisOk, so delete all patterns except Ultran from 112 for 1 bar....?

Re: Anyone know a shortcut for thisAdd an empty 16-step (1 bar) pattern in places where you don't want elements to play. Move them over the existing patterns, and they will stop playing.

Re: Anyone know a shortcut for thisOut of curiosity why would that be better than just leaving an empty section in the Playlist ?
Re: Anyone know a shortcut for thisWell, if you look at the image he posted, and take a closer look at the section where he wants to have this "stop moment", in the 109-113 part, you will see that he has patterns that are 4 bars long, that they have their place. Now, conventionally, if he wanted an empty space on 112 bar, for 1 bar, he would do #2 from his post, which is: he would need to duplicate all of the patterns and change them to get that empty bar, which in his case (according to that image) is 6, when you exclude 1 for Ultran that needs to stay there. He could also use an extra pattern with a Solo automation in it on 112th bar, but to me that would most likely sound weird and unnatural since all sounds would just be chopped off, without trails ending. But that's just me.
So, to put some perspective with steps needed for #2 in his post: - Changing patterns 1. Bring up instrument / pattern from playlist 2. CTRL+C 3. Select a new pattern 4. CTRL+V 5. CTRL+MouseClick to select notes to delete / click on select tool and THEN go to select (which adds an extra step there) 6. Right click / press Delete button 7. Change to the new pattern in Playlist (all this x6) or - Adding empty patterns 1. Add a pattern on playlist 2. Change it to an empty one 3. Move into place over an existing pattern (all this also repeated 6 times) So, duplicating and changing 6 patterns vs just adding and moving empty 1 bar patterns in place? I don't know, but sure seems like a time (and effort) saver to me. SoundCloud ::: Facebook
Re: Anyone know a shortcut for thisI'm sorry I asked............
Re: Anyone know a shortcut for thisWell, perhaps my explanation was complicated. I struggled writing it, to be honest. But let me try with an example. Take this picture: Imagine you wanted to remove 1 finger on the hand that shows 2 fingers, so that you're left with a hand that's showing a middle finger (making it unique ). What's the easiest way? Scrape it off? Or just grab some white paint and paint over it That's basically what an empty pattern does when you overlap it on top of the one with notes. It takes over, so no notes are playing. And it's easier than doing the whole copying and changing patterns, generally being too careful not to mess all the others up. SoundCloud ::: Facebook
Re: Anyone know a shortcut for thisselect two patterns that will be within the range you want>> merge items>> delete extra notes>> repeat>> done
Re: Anyone know a shortcut for this
That's another easier way! I practically never use the merge of patterns, I forgot about it But nice tip Would like to hear if Steven got his little issue solved, and how SoundCloud ::: Facebook
Re: Anyone know a shortcut for thisFor me it would just be easier to Lasso everything past a certain point, drag it over and simply add the pattern I want to play. To me it would give a better visual representation of what's going on..........but that's just me, we all work differently.
Re: Anyone know a shortcut for thisYes, thats what i was trying to say, but wasnt quite sure what he wanted to achieve.
