I've been really loving Dune 2 - the new analog switch and filters in 2.5 really add to it, but there are still a few features I believe would really bring it to top.
1) Wavetable editor (confirmed?)
2) Better FM control - possibly by using custom wavetables for the FM matrix
3) More interesting filter types such as phaser filters, double notch, peaking etc which are really great for creating neuro sounds
4) Filter module in FX section
Would love to see these in Dune 2Moderators: Christophe, Mark

Re: Would love to see these in Dune 21) most probably in D3 now.
2) already possible using wavetables. I think I have already released one for exactly this. I'll check. 3) agreed 4) sort of possible already using the delay effects. Turn sync off, turn delay down to 1ms for left and right and wet/dry to completely wet. Feedback gives acceptable resonance with some settings. Not perfect, but usable and interesting
Re: Would love to see these in Dune 21) Oh really Mark? That's so sad to hear. Hopefully, DUNE 3 isn't that far away, if that's the case.
@tobyemerson Nice to see you are loving DUNE 2! I always loved your patches on Image-Line's synths and demos, and your Black Octopus sounds, of course. I would really love if you released a pack of sounds for DUNE 2. I would love to hear what you can do with it!
Re: Would love to see these in Dune 2Yorrrrr don't you have access to Mark's Wavetable tool ?
I have mixed emotions about a built in WT editor. While it would be a nice tool, small waveforms that make up the tables can only hold so much information so tend to start sounding rather similar after awhile. Now .sfz support........that would take DUNE to a whole new galaxy....... (don't think it will ever happen but hey I can wish) Oh and different Arps per Layer although it's been said that's not technically possible due to the architecture.......
Re: Would love to see these in Dune 2Anyway I've been messing around this morning and made a couple of Wavetables and six very simple patches using them.....
Tek Tables 12-28-15 In case anyone might find the WT's useful............
Re: Would love to see these in Dune 2No Teksonik, I didn't have the chance to try the WT tool.
BTW thanks for the sounds and wavetables you posted. Very nice. I also enjoyed the sounds from the Discovery Pro synth factory bank. They are awesome. I hope you made a soundbank for DUNE 2 (free or not, I'd buy it), or just if you shared the sounds you have made so far. Last edited by Yorrrrrr on Mon Dec 28, 2015 10:14 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Re: Would love to see these in Dune 2Cool, thanks for the kind words ! I've got a bunch of DUNE 2 sounds just haven't decided what to do with them yet.......
By the way poke around the Beta Forum, you'll find something for Wavetables there as well............
Re: Would love to see these in Dune 2
Are those made using my editor? Or the beta one from SA? Can't download to look atm. Away from my computer.
Re: Would love to see these in Dune 2Thanks for the replys Mark!
Defintiely learned a couple things there.
Thanks! Actually I have close to 100 patches for a sound bank (although some will have to be cut) I have been slowly compiling patches since I got Dune 2 and hopefully have a soundset out for it soon.

The Beta.........
Re: Would love to see these in Dune 2Via KVR regarding Galbanum Architectural Waveforms:
This would be a nice addition I think.
Re: Would love to see these in Dune 2There are thousands of those. It would take an age to make into WT's. Doubt Rich has the time.
Best plan is to buy waveforms and wait for next update. You can then make your own. Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

Re: Would love to see these in Dune 2The thread on KVR
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 1&t=453360 If I understand correctly, Galbanum would do the "heavy lifting."
Re: Would love to see these in Dune 2Rich just needs to send him the current WT tool then. Trouble is, yoy will get hundreds of WT's from waveforms HE selects....might not be to everyones liking.

Re: Would love to see these in Dune 2Galbanum has some demo waveforms to download at:
http://www.galbanum.com/products/architecturewaveforms2010 I've used them to make a couple of of Wavetables but the trouble is you have no real idea what "BinMult RM 11001101" or "SPM-LinB 032 08 004 04" sound like until you load them into the WT Tool and save as. You're just basically guessing if those waveforms are worth using or if they will go with the rest of the table. You can kind of guess what type of sound each wave might be by the visual representation in blocks of the WT Tool. Here's a description of one type of Waveform given by Galbanum: "Binary Additive Arithmetic Series. These waveforms are created by forming 8 partial "bins"or containers which can either be on (1) oroff (0). All possible unique values are provided, which is equal to 2^8=256 possibilities. This is equivalent to 8bit values hence the name Binary Additive. The partial bin cutoffs in this group follow an arithmetic series (1,3, 6, 10, 15, 21,28, 36,45...) and partial amplitude is 1/frequency (i.e. partial 2 has an amplitude of 1/2)". Riiiiight.......Mark can decipher that but Neanderthals such as myself have to listen to the wav to know what it sounds like........ So I guess Galbanum would have a better idea what those cryptic sample names actually sound like so may be able to create more logical Wavetables ? Here's a WT I threw together using the demo waves. Galbanum Demo WT ^^^^ EDIT: Wave # 6 in the above WT is nearly silent. Sorry about that but it illustrates my point about not knowing what they sound like until you actually create a WT. I should have noticed by it's appearance that it wouldn't have much amplitude but I didn't. The 2048 sample size wavs that DUNE 2 loads seem to fall into a few categories like "Bellish", "Clavish", "Sort of Vocalish", then of course the classic Saws, Sines etc...... Like I said I have mixed emotions about Wavetables as the wavs start to sound kind of similar after awhile. I'm not sure thousands of waveforms are really going to yield that many noticeably different Wavetables but I guess the more the merrier.......
