Here is the sine phase change wavetable plus a simple Yamaha style FM patch with feedback on the modulator (Osc2). Two voices each with different pitches panned left and right to create a simple saw in the left channel and a square in the right.

Re: DUNE 2: additional FM algorithms is possible?Nice Mark. You should make an advanced tips and tricks guide to DUNE 2! Your knowledge elevates DUNE 2 to a whole new level.
Re: DUNE 2: additional FM algorithms is possible?
Cheers mate. I will do one day!
Re: DUNE 2: additional FM algorithms is possible?Thank you very much Mark, I'll take a look as soon as I've some free times. Also thanks to Yorrrrrr about some suggestions, all of your help are really appreciated!
Re: DUNE 2: additional FM algorithms is possible?Sik mr holt!
Very impressive demonstration of acquired geek knowledge. Do you have a degree in pure mathematics? Peace ---=u f o=--- /Radiation Mutant / Snee-Nee-Iq
Re: DUNE 2: additional FM algorithms is possible?
Not maths, but Biochemistry. And a PhD at that. So, it's Dr Holt next time, right?
Re: DUNE 2: additional FM algorithms is possible? To add to Mark's brilliant tutorial... also remember that you have 8 voices with Dune 2. So you could, for example, use any of the techniques that Mark suggested PLUS you have more voices so you could have a chain of FM operators set up to modulate each oscillator in each layer for something really crazy (dependent upon your CPU of course).
Like sucks if you blow chunks
Re: DUNE 2: additional FM algorithms is possible?Indeed, but given that this approach needs the highest quality settings then 8 voices can get a bit hairy
It is possible to use the second highest quality setting with significant CPU savings, but with an expected degradation in sound, although this can sometimes be quite pleasing. It never sounds pleasing at the lowest quality setting
