How to choose best speakersHey guys, I would appreciate some fresh ideas on the best speaker package and placement for this room. It is a youth oriented new church startup in a rental building with drywall and a cement floor for now loa array. Room dimensions are 35' wide by 70' long with a 10-foot ceiling and chair seating for about 200. I view it as a hybrid portable system with only FOH speakers being mounted. Budget for audio (equipment only) is <$15k. Thanks!
Re: How to choose best speakersI have Mackie/Tapco Thump 12" speakers and 12 channel mixers--
and so Mackie are a quality PA outfit- for your speakers and mixer. Behringer are making a name for themselves other than being just the budget solution- so their 18" speakers would prolly tear the place down Sennheiser make nice close proximity mics Welcome!
Re: How to choose best speakers
I'm owning Sennheiser HD 380 Pro Monitor Headphones - nice as f***. Not only for monitoring they're great but also for loud and clear HiFi experience. Re: How to choose best speakersKrim has Senny headphones,
I used to have the same ones, but leant them to my little sisters and they disappeared. They were great, and about $100 I think. The mic I have is an e835 dynamic, verrry nice Beyer is another good option for 'phones I hear
Re: How to choose best speakers
I also own Beyerdynamic headphones (for about 150€). They're nice for HiFi but not really good for monitoring and they loose big in comparison to the Sennheiser which cost now about 130€ (I paid 200€ for them before some years). Re: How to choose best speakersTo the topic: I use Edirol MA-20D for years now. They're really good if you are on a budget (up to 90 db if you and your neighbors don't mind). Really they're quite nice for that cash.

Re: How to choose best speakers
He was asking about PA systems, not studio monitors. I don't think <8" studio monitors would be enough for the 70ft (23m) x 35ft (11m) x 10ft (3m) room SoundCloud ::: Facebook
Re: How to choose best speakersI think a nice pair of PA monitors would be nice to have. Load them up in a truck or something and throw a festival somewhere outdoors on the fly at anytime This might not be the best place to ask for this sort of advice though, perhaps kvr or better yet gearslutz would be more apt
