Ok I thought, maybe someone remembers this... In earlier versions of Orion was a demo song called "Vocoder Demo". But I just listened to that demo and to be exact, it says "voices are in my head".
That demo song is missing in newer versions of Orion, oldest I found was with Orion Platinum 7.1
As the name says, it is a demonstration of the Vocoder. Just a recorded sample plus the vocoder. As Orion was named Orion Platinum back then, my best friend and I laughed our a$$es off when we played that sample without the vocoder. The phrase "voices are in my head" was recorded without note pitches (sorry, Idk the right word at the moment. You know, the vocoder does the notes so you can speak/sing "flat"...)
So the wav file with no vocoder sounded (and still sounds) so funny, my friend and I still remember and "recite" it.
Now here's what I wanted to "say" in my post: whenever I think of that Vocoder Demo Song, I imagine RICH sitting there, recording that little phrase with a cheap microphone... Now that I revisited the demo song, I think MAYBE I'm right about that and it is Richard himself who recorded the wav file, because it is named "test2"
If someone is interested in that demo song, let me know
@Rich
if that's your voice, please let me know, too
At least I can say I learned from the demo song and whenever I'm recording my voice through the vocoder of my microKorg, I do it the same way
Edit: the trash factor of the voice sample was intended that way, for sure!... I believe
btw the demo song should be part of the Orion demo versions, if I remember correctly
