I'm sure it could, although not any paraphonic sounds.
The waveforms aren't anything special. I have them as well as a Korg MS2000BR, which has them on board.
Wavetables for DUNE2 and DUNE3 (£10 for lifetime upgrades)Moderators: Christophe, Mark
Re: Wavetables for DUNE2 and DUNE3 (10 for lifetime upgradeWhat architecture does the DW 8000 have that a single voice layer of Dune 3 doesn't other than the single rather than per voice VCF,VCA ?
Wasn't the Poly 800 was also paraphonic ? Did the Synapse version (X-Poly ?) also emulate that architecture ? Oh well not a big deal. I just thought someone might want to make a DW 8000 soundset for Dune 3. Given the popularity of all things legacy hardware it might sell.... Re: Wavetables for DUNE2 and DUNE3 (10 for lifetime upgradeI wonder if it would be possible to emulate paraphophony using MSEGs in loop mode. I'll have a look.
Re: Wavetables for DUNE2 and DUNE3 (10 for lifetime upgradeI like the sound "Twang MV" at 8:27 of the video. Seems like Dune 3 could easily reproduce that sound pretty close to 1:1. I'm not sure how much the re-triggering has to do with that sound.
Hey maybe a DW 8000 tribute could be Synapse Audio's next project (since they already did the Poly 800).
Re: Wavetables for DUNE2 and DUNE3 (10 for lifetime upgradeSetting the MSEGs to loop mode with a length of 32 seconds and controlling amp level and filter cutoff enables something similar to paraphonic mode. If you need longer than 32 seconds then move the rate knob to the left. Of course you can also emulate the 6 stage envelopes as well.
I'll have a listen to the video again.
Re: Wavetables for DUNE2 and DUNE3 (10 for lifetime upgradeHere's a quick try at Twang MV. It's lacking a lot but I think the bones are there.
Espen Kraft has a room full of gear so I'm not sure if he's using external effects or not. I'd swear I hear Reverb on the final output but I'm only listening on the cheap speakers on this system. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Re: Wavetables for DUNE2 and DUNE3 (10 for lifetime upgradeim sure the internets biggest bore sampled his dw8000 and made wt's from them... not sure if they were released into the wild tho...

Re: Wavetables for DUNE2 and DUNE3 (10 for lifetime upgradeHmmm I wonder who that could be.....
At least he's been missing in action lately.
Re: Wavetables for DUNE2 and DUNE3 (£10 for lifetime upgradeI'm just in the process of uploading a huge >1Gb update to the wavetable library for all current users. This consists of ~1500 wavetables in DUNE3 and other formats.
Some of the highlights of this update include wavetables based on what I call "Exponent Modulation". This is like phase modulation where the modulation functions exponent is itself modulated by a sine wave. Some of these also have a feedback component. Also, I have extracted impulse responses from some of my synths and applied them to analogue waveforms to give some nice filter sweeps with differing amounts of resonance. Enjoy
Re: Wavetables for DUNE2 and DUNE3 (£10 for lifetime upgradeI'm just in the process of uploading some wavetables utilising PWM of arbitrary waveforms to users' folders. The base waveforms used for these come from FM, analogue, noise snapshots, plus other sources.
The folder is called MH PWM. Enjoy! For anyone who hasn't bought in to the lifetime update of wavetables from me, it's still only a one-off £10 to join. The library currently consists of ~3.75 Gb and includes (mostly) wavetables, plus some patches for DUNE 2 and 3, plus a whole patch bank that I used to sell for DUNE1 and some MIDI files, e.g., for the arp section of DUNE2/3. Re: Wavetables for DUNE2 and DUNE3 (£10 for lifetime upgradeI've just added ~400 short semi-algorithmic/mathematically-generated drum/percussion loops designed to work with DUNE3's wavetable in one shot mode. The loops are algorithmic in terms of the rhythm of the loop as well as the sounds, which were generated using a mixture of real FM and various colours of noise.
In DUNE3, put the wavetable section in one shot mode and modulate wavetable position however you wish, e.g., a rising ramp in a MSEG will sweep through the loop in the correct order. You will need to pitch the WT oscillator down 36 semitones to get the original pitch, but pitch changes are something you might want to modulate too. I'm not sure what other WT synths these will work in as intended. DUNE3 in one shot mode can be made to act as a groove reslicer. The loops, however, can be used in samplers or programs that do groove reslicing. Again, you'll need to pull the pitch down on these (if you want). Here is a link to a demo that contains 16 loops for those that want to test. https://1drv.ms/u/s!AqyauWxlz_jVgeySdmcQYtyKBPIrGdw If you want more loops, plus many more traditional wavetables for only £10, then follow the link in my signature. EDIT: Current users will find the new loops in a zip folder called MH FM+Noise Loops.zip towards the bottom of their user folder.
Re: Wavetables for DUNE2 and DUNE3 (£10 for lifetime upgradeHere's a DUNE3 patch to use with the loops and to get you started.
