Suggestion for good EQHi all of you, I always love Orion's EQ and I'm looking for something similar to try on other DAWs to. Do any of you know which independent EQ plugin comes closer to the Orion EQ? Thanks.
Re: Suggestion for good EQwhich eq?
Re: Suggestion for good EQYes you'll have to narrow it down a bit.....
Then there is the EQ in the Mixer strips. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Re: Suggestion for good EQA yes sorry, i mean that of the mixer channels yes.
Re: Suggestion for good EQthere are lots of mixer strip vsts about, but can't say I've tried any
they usually have some "famous name" which doesn't interest me Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM
250GB SSD - 1TB HDD | M-Audio Oxygen 25 V
Re: Suggestion for good EQDead Duck has a nice free Channel Strip. Is it as good or better than Orion's Mixer EQ ? You'd have to determine that for yourself.
http://deadducksoftware.blogspot.com/ He has a bundle of other freeware effects including a separate EQ......
Re: Suggestion for good EQThanks it sounds interesting, I'll try it and among at the "top of the range" thing what do you recommend ?
Re: Suggestion for good EQTop of the range plugins? In my opinion: Izotope, Waves and FabFilter. But they are pricey.
As freeware alternatives, again, in my humble opinion and preference, personally I think Blue Cat, Melda and Voxengo have some pretty good plugins. If you're looking for more "vintage" stuff, you can also check out Antress' plugins. SoundCloud ::: Facebook
Re: Suggestion for good EQI see now if I can stay within my budget ... I make a cross between a free and a top of the range ... Thanks.
Re: Suggestion for good EQJust don't confuse High Price with High Quality. High price plugins often come with baggage such as requiring a Dongle or requiring e-licenser software to be installed. A high list price doesn't guarantee high quality.
For a great free Dynamic EQ, I suggest the TDR Nova: https://www.tokyodawn.net/tdr-nova/ There is a paid for "Gentleman's" version that is 60 euros and brings extra features but the free version works well for me.
Re: Suggestion for good EQThanks, in fact it happens to pay a plugin just because it emulates the name of a "famous hardware" but in the digital environment, in the end, some aspects remain always inimitable compared to the real hardware...
Re: Suggestion for good EQWell then just buy the real hardware if you're concerned about the .00001% difference.
Re: Suggestion for good EQMmm I don't know .. I don't think it's so low the difference otherwise all the professional studios would close shop...
Re: Suggestion for good EQI didn't know all "professional" studios used only hardware. I better just give up now since I can't afford over priced and under powered hardware.
Never confuse "different" with "better". Anyway you asked for a substitute for a fifteen year old Software EQ so......
