Turn off dx plugin support

I could really do with a way to turn off scan/support for dx plugins - all the other plugin menus are nicely sorted but the dx one is an unsorted mess that blocks all the others when I scroll down the menu.

Does anyone still use DX effects? I wouldn't mind to drop DX at some point, however not in the Cubase way of dropping it entirely, but just to drop the menus so that old projects still load & work fine.

I use few DX effects, mainly:
- Synapse Vocoder
- MIDIout
- DreamStation
- few effects installed with Sound Forge

Checkbox "Use DX plugins" in options would be better for everyone than dropping it from menu.

:)

Yeah - just a tick box to enable/disable in preferences would be fine - I don't use them but some came with other stuff like Sonar so I don't want to just disable them on a system level, just remove the annoying menu

Totally agree. Some of the DX fx that came with soundforge are cool. An option to turn off DX would be the best.

Why not just ignore them? That's served me well these many years past.

Because as I said they sit between the Rewire and other plugins on the menu but because they aren't sorted into menus like the VST plugins scrolling down the insert menu often leads to the DX menu blocking all the others and its a pain - I have to try and keep the insert menu open but sort of go around the DX bit which take a fair amount of hand/eye coordination.

Did Cubase entirely drop DX? Holy crap! Anyone with Waves plugs would be surely pissed! :superlol: I try to avoid using DX in Orion for some reason. Mastering with Wavelab I can't live without them. But I don't know why the aversion to DX when it comes to OP? I think it was Synth1 and some other things that actually worked better in OP than their VST counterparts. And then there's Analog X stuff - essential DX freebies to this day. They've saved me in a pinch. Hate to think I was on Cubase and couldn't get at those either.

But I hate the fact how DX things really ingrain themselves into a users system and registry. Great if they're good - but I refuse to try DX demos anymore, as I can never seem to remove them fully.

I mean this one:
http://www.cakewalk.com/download/RGC_MIDIout.exe

You can draw every midi CC's and send to output device (I use it for controlling the ReBirth mainly).
