Orion 7.5 is laging/skiping. Please help fix~!

Postby electro3031 » Tue Mar 10, 2009 11:21 pm

Just a couple of days ago when this happened when i started Orion 7.5 it said something like "audio settings werent saved last shutdown due to an unproper shutdown" or something similar to that and it asked if i wanted to start in safe mode so i clicked yes. ever since then my Orion has been playing as if its skiping; you can hear the audio as if it were "laging" or the volume jumping up and down really edgey like. How do i fix this problem?

thanks

Check your audio settings again. It may have reverted to not using ASIO

Goto 'Options' -> 'Audio Output Settings' and set you propper audio card, playback rate and driver (ASIO, is possible).

If Orion did not close propperly, the default values are set. That might end up in Orion using an onboard sound chip or whatever but not your ASIO sound card.

You mean the ASIO driver? He can have one sound card, but still use it in one of three drivers modes: ASIO, WaveMME and DirectSound.

So, yeah... he better check that. :hihi:

I think it was 7.5 where I got into all the timing issues with Real Guitar? But seemed to overcome it by a mix of Optimal Dual Core CPU ON or OFF, ASIO latency adjustments, and Preference doohickies.
Thankfully with 7.6 now, the timing is 'bang on' for what I can tell? Either my settings are holding, or improvements have been definately made. (the later more likely ;) ) 7.5 was a unpleasent trip as I recall.

I had the same experience + lots of crashing and headaches ;)

V7.62 made me happy again :D

Not sure what happened to the timing there, I know Rich and Jouni really had to work hard to 'get it back to normal'. Something about the dual core business and/or Multi Outs or something? Made me panic, that's for sure - and I was on a Dual Core and all that at the time.

7.6x a DEFINATE improvement!
