I agree. the chord tool is something i got a lot of use out of for every project.
it was blissfully simple to plug in the chord progression and tell it to render the notes out to the pattern.

'cuz the next one is a whole lot better? :)

The old one was too unintuitive, no realtime options etc. Don't see any point in it, other than as a tool to learn chords.

Why would you remove a feature before introducing an improved one?

That is like a chef coming out of the kitchen to stop a patron mid-meal to tell them they can no longer eat the food on their plate because it is not to his standards. Then making them wait until the chef manages to create something even 'better'.

I'm glad you're working to improve functionality (REALLY glad), but I don't see why you'd remove something completely before offering a better solution.

I must humbly admit that I used it very frequently because I usually knew what chords I wanted, but I didn't want to bother thinking about what notes to use. I should find some free time and devote it to learning some more theory. Too many years spent as a rhythm guitarist and only using keyboards for monophonic bass and leads and these days I compose via mouse because of space and budget limitations.

Heh, Exactly! :D Following this path - V8.5 it is not a perfect release, so uninstall it because soon will be release 9.0 and it will be far better...really strange strategy - but what can we do..I mentioned this once after release 8.0 and got the same response.

Dont give me wrong but it is a little bit unclear for me. When you guys worked on new improvements couple weeks/months ago (like new compressor for example), obviously the old one was not removed from the 7.62 release.

i would agree that the promise of something better is not a replacement for something useful. also, "real time options" is not my thing. it really wasn't all that unintuitive. select the length of the chord progression, select the chords, and then render out. pretty simple. i think there was also the assumption that because we didn't complain about it, we weren't using it.
