Definetly agree with you. Nice to see that mock-up too.

+1 I like it!... because as it is now if you draw some automation, and make a mistake or want to change something, must re do everything.

Everyone loves the idea, though lengthy discussions about it started really long time ago. That should tell you something ;)

I remember this being discussed a long time ago. Whatever happened to the idea? I seem to remember there was a reason why splines were never added?

Yeah, but is it worth ignoring all the time?

Miscommunication mostly, I think. Everyone had their own vision of how it should work. Not to mention all the possible incompatibilities with older projects that could arise from that.

If they add the splines, you'll probably lose automations in the old projects, an idea that no one, not even Rich is too joyful about. And adding splines to control the current automations (like Bones suggested), although a brilliant idea, would require damn too much work, and a possibility of a CPU strains for various mathematical and programming reasons - starting with double drawing, if something goes wrong by any chance. Again something Rich or Intro don't seem to be too joyful about

automation was revamped a while back, but that particular version wasnt very good, so it was scrapped. I think splines will come in at some point (they seem the most popular request/way to work), and that automation will be worked on again very soon.

Yeah, the knodes are a great idea! The tools in the editor (LINE, PENCIL) are not really handy!

The nodes is a great idea, and the mockup (now gone) looked nice. I think that splines is an even better idea.
I don't like the idea of a new button for every new feature/improvement.

There would need to be conversion from old drawn-in automation to new spline-based automation when opening old projects in new Orion. This would need to be accompanied by a warning "Song file from previous version, converting. Saving this file will make it incompatible with previous versions of Orion." I'm sure it'd be a beast to code, though.

Yeah. We need to work in this area anways (for VST plugins), so that is likely to come. :)

I'm locking the thread now as it is empty for some reason.
