Dune V1.4 released!

Postby Richard » Thu Oct 20, 2011 12:54 pm

Dune 1.4 has been released today! This update is mostly a maintenance update, but introduces a few new features, too. It is a free update for all registered Dune users.

Changes:

  • The order of the built-in effects can be modified via drag'n'drop. For instance, you can now process e.g. the distortion section after the delay section, by moving the distortion block behind the delay.
  • Updated factory banks with selected patches from Rob Lee's "Total Recall" Soundset.
  • Play Cursor added to the Arpeggiator section.
  • VST version of Dune is now compatible with older hosts too, such as Cubase SX 3 or energyXT 1.4.
  • Mac OS X version could crash in the UI code, fixed.

One more thing. When holding +CTRL while dragging an effect block, it will be swapped with the target block.

Master Tune

Postby Exito » Mon Jun 03, 2013 6:43 pm

Hello, I'm using vsthost (http://www.hermannseib.com/vsthost.htm) (not DAW), and tried demo version of Dune. One issue...Please explain me where can i find master tune option for whole synth DUNE , because my whole studio is runnig at 432 Hz not 440Hz. How can i set it up ? Maybe I'm blind, but I'm really unable to localize such option...Could you help me please?

Use a mod matrix entry with a constant value controlling fine pitch perhaps? You should be able to work out how much to decrease it using a sine wave and a FFT analyser such as Voxengo Span. Once you've done that, save it as your init preset.

Master Tune

Postby Exito » Mon Jun 03, 2013 8:07 pm

WOW....That's surprise....looks like DUNE don't have master tune...well I'm bit dissapointed. But here is solution for guys like me : http://tuneit.free.fr/Site/Home.html freeware. Using in VST chain with Dune works fine. BTW please think about master tune in nearest updates, i thing I'll buy Dune, need yet few days for testing, but no master tune in such a good synth - WOW.....

Did you even try my suggestion? It is a master tune, just using the mod matrix instead of a wasteful knob on the GUI.

It does have master tune. Mark told you how. Its not a knob, its in the MM.

JG will be very upset you dont use his tuning...

Edit: beat me to it

YES Mark, I did, thank you, my question is - what do you suggest to set up as destination in mod matrix to keep it running with each preset? Some of MM mode? Now i understood your sugesstion :)

I would have an initialised preset with the line

Const -32 pitch fine

If I was going to do something like this, that is

You should be able to remember that easily though and add it each time you make a new preset or edit an existing one. Check the value I've suggested though. I wouldn't want you using the wrong value now :D

Edit: Personally, I think this sort of thing should be handled by the DAW.

Thank you. Done :)

" Personally, I think this sort of thing should be handled by the DAW."

Well...let me guess....Orion ? :D

I don't need DAW here, because I'm running all needed VST plugins at special separated hardware VST station (Lionstracs) so DAW is only at main PC. Thank you for your help :).
