Dune : midi learn on mac ?

Postby carambo » Sun Dec 18, 2011 3:07 pm

Hello, 2 questions :
- in the manual it is mentionned right+ctrl click to activate midi learn, doesn't work on mac or is it me ??
- how do you reset a patch, that is to initialize Dune to build from scratch a preset ?
Thanks

1) Just right-click on any knob to get the MIDI Learn options.

2) The very last patch is an Init Patch, Bank C #128. Some users have also posted an Init Bank, which contains only empty patches:

Ctrl+click doesn't work for midi learn, logic 9.1.6, os 10.6.8. When ctrl+click, nothing happens, even if I touch a button on my midi keyboard, Logic does respond but not Dune !

CTRL+Click is supposed to be control reset. Not sure how it's on Mac, but right click on the control and you get Midi Learn/Forget options.

In the Mac world, right click is supposed to be ctrl+click ! since the introduction of the Mac in 1984 !!! I am curious to see what means for you "right click" ?? when doing this in Dune, nothing happens ! May be your definition of right click is not the same ! Anyway, ctrl+click doesn't work, so please instead of "right click", give me the precise definition of what you mean to get midi learn on mac for Dune ???? alt+click : doesn't work ! cmd+click : doesn't work ! xx + click ???

If he is using an original Apple mouse, he doesn't:

Seems the starting trend with new Macs is multitouch mouse-type thing, older Mac users still most likely have a one-button mouse, and unless they're willing to fork out $$$ for a new mouse, they will stay that with it.

So, with that, there seems to be conflict about that. While maintaining a consistent control handling on DUNE for both PC and Mac, one-button Mac users will suffer because of that, since their right-click equivalent is CTRL+click, which is a "control reset" on DUNE.

There is only one button on Mac Mouse ! The one above is mine, so again what am I supposed to do ! I am sorry but I am very upset that the developers of Dune cannot answer how to get midi learn on Mac !!! Very surprising, not to say more ! I post this topic on december 18th, one month ago, let's see how long it will take ! Also vey strange to be the only Mac user trying to use midi learn...

Which is surprising, being that he owns a Mac AFAIK.

The problem lies in this...
Mac right-click = CTRL+click
Control reset on DUNE = CTRL+click

See the conflict in that?

Unless the DUNE's control reset for Mac versions has been set to some other combo shortcut, Mac users can't right click on its controls. I don't have a Mac to verify.
