Certainly the Slicer could get some improvements. I'd like it happen.

Manual slices can be arranged in the Piano Roll. Do the manual slicing and then go to the Piano Roll (click the 'RNG' button to see where are the slices on the keys; it's C4 and up). You don't even need to close the Slicer window, but it works after closing it too.

Trouble is, the slices wont be in sync if the loop isn't a round number of bars etc.

Here's an example. Say if I wanted to just audition this in a song I was working on

this loop has a gap at the end.
SO, when recreated in piano roll, it doesn't fit the timing of the song
To do that requires moving the notes around - but surely, 'recreate in piano roll' aims to remove the need to do that

Rather than go to the trouble of firing up an audio editor, snipping it, trying again and so on, it would be great if Orion just let you
a) set start and and points for what's recreated in the piano roll
b) press a button to recreate in piano roll after moving slices

It's also not possible to recreate manual slices in the piano roll, since the recreate function is only I think applied when using the automatic/fixed space slices.
There needs to be a 'recreate in piano roll' button in the slice view window

right click on the groove view bring you 4 choices :

add slice
delete slice
reverse slice
recreate groove in piano roll

Looks like this sampler from Fxpansion may do what I want
It also has the option to replace slices, which is very nice
