Just wanted to check if anyone else besides me has difficulty using the old Z3ta (v1.53).
Mine suddenly, in a specific project, anywere in that song burst out in "total static noise at full volume" (making my ears bleed and my monitors elements cry tears of pain and sadness).
I have tried turning of it's internal reverb/delays and reducing live quality to 0.5x.
The annoying thing is that the f**** thing "renders" the same random occuring error. Meaning it has nothing to do with audio/cpu-performance.
I mailed Cakewalk but they're not likely to care because now there is the new "Z3ta+ 2.0".
I think this is the worst VSTi/VST error sound I've encountered so far.
It reminds me of analog equipment when accidentally causing feedback-loop resulting in speakerdamaging chaos.
Just wanted to check if anyone else had the same experience using Z3ta at some point?

Re: Anyone else having problem with the old Z3ta? .... if you are talking about a piercing/acute sound , well sometimes i can get this problem too ! but not only with Z3Ta it can arrive with another plugs ! Have you got an external soundcard ? I have a Line 6 TonePort Ux1 . My solution on XP Home is to go in the .. "device driver"( i guess it's called like that in English ) and deactivate the soundcard and then you activate it again .

I know what you mean... Yes, I use an external focusrite-card. But... The noise actually stops or fades out on DAW-stop after a short while. No need to check the soundcard functionality. Doesn't matter what I do with the soundcard. It occurs on two different soundcards. And for no reason at any point in the song where Z3ta is actively playing. The fact that the fault is actually rendered out in "offline mode" also seems to me like a fault in Z3ta. And should rule out the likeliness of it being an issue with soundcards and realtime playback. Well, I'm not enirely ruling out the possibility that there is a sync/timing issue that "starts" with a playback fault "before" I choose to render the Z3ta track. But that seems far fetched. Z3ta sounds really good which make me even more p**** off If it had been a crappy sounding VSTi I could just leave it but I like Z3ta alot. Going through the Z3ta patches there is always one or two sounds that does the job...
Re: Anyone else having problem with the old Z3ta?Unfortunately version 1.5.3 was/is buggy. I'm afraid Cakewalk isn't going to do anything about it. As you say they've moved on..... Is there a particular patch that this occurs on? Maybe something to do with the Arp? I seem to remember there were issues with patches saved in version 1.4 and used in 1.5 but I don't know if that is what's causing your problem.
For the record I never got the noise from hell using Z3ta+........

I think I disabled the arp. Oh well. Typical. I'm a little scared to continue using Z3ta if it generates this kind of fault. I don't wan't my speakers membranes sitting in my lap... Wonder if Cakewalk succeeded in a completely stable plug in Z3ta+2.0... Perhaps 2.0 can read the old 1.53 patches?
