You're kidding right? Are those image full size? I measure the Echo unit including the wooden rack sides at 680 pixels. My modest 22" monitor runs at 1680............
Is that the space developers will have to cram their Rack Extension units into ?
I measured 750 pixels on the first image and 750+ pixels on the second image, without the 'woods'.
I'm just trying to find out how it is with the latest version. It seems it's resizeable (that would explain the + on the second image).
Reason 6’s working environment is based around three main elements: the mixer, the rack and the sequencer. These can appear together as resizable horizontal ‘panes’ in a single window, which can itself be resized to best fit your monitor. Hitting your computer keyboard’s F5, F6 and F7 keys causes the mixer, rack or sequencer, respectively, to fill the entire window, and the same key returns to the multi-pane view. The mixer and rack can also be detached to become independent windows, which will suit users with multiple monitors. - soundonsound.com
But how big is the "window"? Can it span the entire screen? Looks like Rack Extension developers will have to make their plugins re-sizable as well?
I grew up using rack equipment and still have about 8 spaces of unused gear sitting around so I find that work environment very comfortable. It's always been Reason's small screen footprint and closed architecture that has turned me away from it.....

Good point. I like how you can resize Urs' plugins, even Tyrell. Perhaps he'll be one of the few to port his plugins to Rack Extensions. Only effects at this point right? No instruments?
Ahhh I see thanks. I wonder if the re-size issue will be a major hassle for developers or something simple? Still no word from Rich either way on the subject of Rack Extensions. Would be interesting to hear his thoughts.
