I've found an issue with stuck notes in Proxima, The Legend HZ, and Obsession VSTs in Reason 13.5.1 under Windows 11.
The issue does not occur in Dune 3, so it doesn't seem like a general Reason issue.
I've attached a Reason project and a screen recording showing the issue. In the video, you can see voice #6 gets stuck until it's re-triggered toward the end.
The example uses Proxima, but it can be swapped out with Obsession or The Legend HZ and the issue will persist. In all cases, it occurs with a freshly initialized patch (set to polyphonic for The Legend HZ).
On my machine, the project reliably reproduces the issue at a 48 kHz sample rate, but the issue does not occur at 44.1 kHz. I'm not sure if that's generally the case or specific to this project. Beyond that, it's hard to determine exactly what's happening.

Re: Stuck notes in Proxima/LegendHZ/Obsession VSTs in ReasonThank you for posting the bug report!
It could be a glitch in the underlying MIDI data, perhaps a missing Note Off event. If I export the clip as MIDI, then import that file into Cubase or Studio One all is fine (no stuck notes). Also touching that note in R13 seems to solve the issue. Admin - Synapse Audio Software

Re: Stuck notes in Proxima/LegendHZ/Obsession VSTs in ReasonThanks for the response, Richard!
I thought that might be the case, though I've observed a couple additional things: - Exporting the MIDI and re-importing into Reason does not get rid of the issue. After importing into a new project, the issue reappears as long as the tempo is set to 110 bpm and sample rate 48 kHz. - The issue disappears if the instrument is replaced with an RE or a non-Synapse VST (or Dune). The issue then reappears if this new instrument is replaced by Proxima/LegendHZ/Obsession. In my case, I haven't found that simply touching the note resolves the issue. Clearing subticks resolves the issue however: So it seems to me like an edge case triggered by the note off event happening at just the right time, being a confluence of tempo, sample rate, and note position/length. Like you mention, I've not been able to recreate the issue in Cubase, so I'll chalk this up to Reason for now and let you know if I ever encounter it in another DAW. Re: Stuck notes in Proxima/LegendHZ/Obsession VSTs in ReasonI looked more thoroughly into it. As expected it is a problem with the MIDI data. When the stuck note occurs, a note with zero length is transmitted to the plug-in.
If the MIDI data originated from R13, then we should forward the issue to RS so they can look into it. If the clip is from elsewhere, it becomes less of a R13 issue (though it would be better if they filter out data that makes no sense). Btw, the RE version of The Legend HZ also works fine with this clip. Admin - Synapse Audio Software

Re: Stuck notes in Proxima/LegendHZ/Obsession VSTs in Reason
Thanks for figuring this out! The clip was indeed recorded/edited in Reason 13, so it looks to be a Reason issue. I'll forward the project to them.
