RE Antidote: Crackling Delay noise with external MIDI clock

Postby bsp » Thu May 14, 2015 4:46 pm

Hi,

when Reason (8.2) is configured to use an external MIDI clock, the Delay effect in the Antidote rack extension sounds very broken (crackling noise).

This does not happen with other delay effects like e.g. The Echo, Steerpike, or Echobode.

My guess it that you forgot to interpolate the clock ?!

What system do you use (Mac or PC), and what is the source which sends the clock?

In general I'd steer clear of using the external MIDI clock, as it typically generates a lot of jitter and thus problems. The MIDI clock protocol has no time stamp and combined with the low transmission speed of MIDI, the clock can be off by a millisecond or worse.
