Dune 3 MM AmountsIf you set the amp level to zero as in the picture. Do those MM settings and put the MSEG1 Volume as in the picture. I would assume that the signal is 0, but it's not, it stays 75. Usually this works for everything but for some reason not for the envelope wheels. I guess this is not how it should be right?

Re: Dune 3 MM AmountsIt seems like the each modulation row targeting the Amp Level is individually clamped to a non-negative final modulation before the modulations are actually summed together. So, negative modulation only has an effect if the Amp Level knob is set above 0.
Seems like the behavior is,
Or something like that?
Re: Dune 3 MM AmountsMost of the destinations are clamped to a certain allowed range, so that no bug can occur during modulation. For efficiency reasons, this happens only when a sound parameter is actually used. Also note the D3 matrix is processed bottom-up, again to save a few clock cycles. Amp Level specifically cannot go below zero, as ComputerUser correctly guessed, but is allowed to go above 1 which can be useful in some cases.
Long story short, if you swap the two lines it'll work Admin - Synapse Audio Software

Re: Dune 3 MM AmountsOh, it's bottom up! OK, now it makes sense. So, it's not that it's clamped individually with no execution order, it's that there's an execution order, and the clamping was happening at each step, but reverse from what it looks like. Thanks!
Re: Dune 3 MM AmountsI guess that means it's better to put "MM Amount 3" on row 4 or later, instead of earlier? Or does Dune 3 take care of sorting those kinds of dependencies? I know the manual says "For such modulations to work properly, the MM Amount numbers must occur in ascending order" for chained modulations, but I'm not sure if that applies to a single MM Amount modulation.
Re: Dune 3 MM AmountsWith MM Amount you are referring to self-modulation, i.e. one slot modulating another? If so, the order does not matter. Only in edge cases, if one slots modulates a slot which modulates yet another slot.

Re: Dune 3 MM AmountsYep, that's exactly what I was asking. Great to know. Thanks for that information!
