Hi Everyone,
I just began testing Orion yesterday so I'm really a newbie. The first problem I have is that the three different DXi synths I inserted cause Orion to crash every time they are triggered on both my Vista and XP computers. Is there any solution for this or can I use VSTi synths only?
The second problem is that when I trigger VSTi synths on my Vista computer there's a slight glitch noise in Orion which spoils the show (which must go on!). They don't make this glitch noise in Orion on my XP pc or in my other DAWS on my Vista machine.
Also, it there anyway to disable the default Nobody Knows"" song when Orion starts? It almost blew my speakers on when I switched Orion on. I'm getting tired of hearing it each time I boot the program and I think it should be optional.

DXi Crashing, Vista glitching sound and Default Songwhat are the DXi synths you are using? (do you not have VST versions?)
to kill the default song, got o FILE>Preferences dont know about the glitching, i dont use Vista. Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM
250GB SSD - 1TB HDD | M-Audio Oxygen 25 V
DXi Crashing, Vista glitching sound and Default SongHi,
Experiment a little with Options > Audio Output Settings. Change the driver options, increase the buffer and see what happens. This solves the glitch for some, as the standard driver might not be what is right for Orion.
DXi Crashing, Vista glitching sound and Default SongThanks for the helpful replies. The DXi issue seems to be related to the particular synth. I tested Synth1 as both a DXi and VSTi and it worked fine as a DXi so it seems to be the specific DXis. Fortunately, I was only testing them with an external AI composer/arranger and rarely use them so it's not a problem as 99% of my synths are VSTis.
I'm still experimenting with Options> audio output to resolve the glitch in Vista but if all else fails I can use the XP pc. I don't like Vista for music production but couldn't get another pc loaded with XP when my main PC crashed in January. So nice to be rid of the song...as good as it is
DXi Crashing, Vista glitching sound and Default SongKeep in touch on your progress. Also I know that some glicthes can be related to the workload of Vista, try to disable some of the things which is running in the background (like the sidebar, vista Aero and stuff like that).

DXi Crashing, Vista glitching sound and Default SongWill do. Thanks for the reminder re Vista's workload. I had forgotten that I could disable some CPU resource hogs running in the background!
