Hi Richard,
I post this as an own issue because it has not much to do with CPU-Spikes.
I have yesterday evening detected the true reason for the audio pops, stuttering and crackles.
Its the plugin delay compensation implemented in Orion 8.02.
At first I have to say that my basic start Project ( Basic Template ) works fine under Orion 7.62.
( EMU ASIO driver with 20ms Buffer Latency and EMU 1820 M Audio Card ).
With the same settings the CPU needs 30% without any note played because of the many VSTi's and VST's loaded in the EFFECT-BUS. And this is ecactly the problem in Orion 8. There are 24 Master-Effects inserted in the four buses with the help of the Multi FX Chainer in Orion and two in the master channel.
When I playback my little demo song the audio beginns to crackle, poping and stuttering. I have then made a test, by switching off one effect after the other in the EFFECT-BUS and was surprised that the audio signal became clearer and clearer. When 14 effects was switched off everything sounded normal without audio crackles etc.
The second test was that I let all effects on and changed the ASIO BUFFER SIZE to 50ms. The result was that the audio crackles disappeared while playback of the demo song. But when I played at the same time with the MIDI keyboard EmulatorX then audio pops appeared.
Don't forget that the same project works normal with Orion 7.62, Eccept that in Orion 8.02 I have made an additional template with some more VSTi's loaded because of the 4GB switch for Win7 64bit, and tested this also.
So please have a look to the plugin delay compensation feature of Orion 8.
Also in Cubase 4 a identical Basic-Project works without this problems with latency and audio crackles.
Thanks !!!

Re: Plugin delay compensationyou posted exactly the same in the other thread, there is no need at all to start another one

Re: Plugin delay compensation
Then it's not the "same project" is it?
Re: Plugin delay compensation
I know, but this issue is an other thematic because it concerns the "Plugin delay compensation" features and the CPU-Spikes is ralated primilary to the "Multicore Engine" as I detected. But in the end the most importend is that the issues get solved, independed from where it's posted. If there where no problems I wouldn't post to the bugs topic and would only post new features suggestions, if necessary.
Re: Plugin delay compensation
For the tests I have loaded the Project made with Orion 7.62 and stored under Orion 8.02. In addition to this basic template I have used this project and added only some Vsti's to it because of the more RAM that can be used in Win7 64bit. I have tested both template-projects in Orion 8.02 with the same results described above. I have made a direct comparison, otherwise I couldn't maintain the results. Only in addition to this I tested the extended project but there is no difference to the results.
Re: Plugin delay compensation
doesnt matter, multiple threads are a pain in the arse, and as you already posted exactly the same thing in a nug thread, ther is no need to post here too
thats even worse Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

Re: Plugin delay compensation
This an own thread and you don't have to tell me what to. Also the suggestions I have made are necessary for arranging and dealing complex project. It seems that you have obvously nothing to do with complex music. I will post here as often as I think its necessary. When this probem isn't solved, no one can deal with this Orion 8 comprehensive projects and this problem exist because I can give the proof. Users will simply than switch to other hosts, there exists many.
Re: Plugin delay compensation
clearly i do because you obviously too stupid to realise you dont need to make multiple threads Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

Re: Plugin delay compensation
You can tell what you want, but this is an own thematic and the problem has to be solved and not your comments, which are not helpfull to solve the issue.
Re: Plugin delay compensationmaking two threads isnt going to get anything done any faster, infact, prob quite the opposite.

Re: Plugin delay compensation
OK !!! Lets have peace ! In this case it's really an other issue as CPU-Spikes which mainly has to do with Waldorf PPG Wave 3.V and Orion 8. But while I have tested this problem I detected a new one which is different to that. And maybe also other users have recogniced problems with the plugin delay compensation, therefore I posted a new topic. I am wondering if no other users here in this forum have complex configurations and projects. If so they must detecd the same issue because I have poofed this. Lets make Orion perfect and helping Richard to reach this for all who love Orion.

Re: Plugin delay compensation
Mr. Kriminal, what you are writing here is complete nonsense and has nothing to do with the issue I posted. I have given the proof that this problem or bug exist, so help to solve it or be quiet. If someone else creates a complex project he or she will also have the described issues and therefore it has to be solved. Otherwise Richard will lose users and customers.
