Since I see you visited here only a week ago I'll bring this up. No you can't save single layers but you can copy/paste them between two instances of DUNE 3. You could make patches that contain some of your favorite layers and then use them for copy/paste. Not as elegant as save/load but a fairly viable workaround.

Macs typically require the very latest versions, since both hardware and OS are updated quite often. The current Mac lineup for instance is centered around a completely new processor type (ARM instead of Intel). This is natively supported by DUNE 3.5 but not older versions, since the hardware did not exist back then. It is not impossible to run older software, but we do not recommend it. Generally speaking, if you intend to use older software frequently consider switching to Windows. You can typically run stuff for decades with little to no issues.

Def Windows, mac has a knack of killing off software, especially if it's unsupported.
