We all know the direction of windows. And the constant updates and other things. Would it not be a huge benefit for us to have a stable slow updating linux distro for music creation?
We now have Mixbus/Ardour, Bitwig and Reaper on linux....
People everywhere are so to tired of fighting with windows, instead of having fun creating music.
I am not rich but I have 50€ for you if you do it. And I guess more people will join if you announce it?
Please no windows vs mac vs linux on this thread, have a great summer everyone.

Re: Can we have a fund raiser for Linux support? For what exactly? Orion or Synths.
No problem with windows here, not for 25 years. I doubt the market is big enough to warrant the dev time. Its hard enough keeping up with all the diff version for win/mac as it is. Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM
250GB SSD - 1TB HDD | M-Audio Oxygen 25 V | Behringer Swing |Behringer UMC204HD | Modular Hardware 6U x 84HP
Re: Can we have a fund raiser for Linux support?Snap, forgot to mention the synth. Dune 3
![]() This was not supposed to be a flame thread about operating systems... Have you ever considered the following: Have you ever tired a linux distro, just curious? No viruses, even more stable than windows. Different desktops. Top security. No privacy intrusions. What's not to like? I can run Dune in wine with yabridge and it even works ok, but for bigger projects more speed is needed. But windows is heading in a dark direction, with no more privacy on windows 11. Also you have to hack windows 11 to run on older hardware. I use x-lite windows, and it is fantastic for a music workstation. But still, linux is free forever and many musicians are poor, so more money for plugin developers if you support linux ![]() And your argument is just the old circle logic, someone has to start supporting linux, and that will off-course attract more people to the platform. Uhe supports Win, Mac, Linux and more is coming every day. Do you know what mister Bill Gates thinks of humanity with he's agenda... Perhaps we should support people with a little bit more positive view on humanity..?
Re: Can we have a fund raiser for Linux support?Moderator hat on: If you don't want a flame thread about different operating systems then don't goad anyone in to starting one. To everyone else, please don't rise to the bait.
Suggestion hat on: Have you tried LinVst-X? I hear that it's better than yabridge.
