Help neededI've decided to make a step sequencer. I made a prototype today and would appreciate a few people getting on board to test and suggest ideas.
The sequence is controlled by faders but are only triggered when a specific note (C3 atm) is played (or placed in the piano roll). The length and velocity are dependent on the note played, but the pitch is dependent on the faders. Playing 16th notes will make the sequence loop as expected. However, by skipping notes and/or changing lengths then you can get some polyrhythmic patterns going. Furthermore, notes that aren't C3 still get played so you can play chords for instance higher up the keyboard. Here's the first output of it running in Orion and driving DUNE2. https://soundcloud.com/markholt/mh-sequencer I have quite a few ideas to expand this concept, but would appreciate input. BTW, since it is made in Flowstone, it is 32-bit only, unless they implement 64-bit export at some point.
Re: Help neededi dont get it at all...your description doesnt sound like a sequencer
i'll happily test it for you tho... Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM
250GB SSD - 1TB HDD | M-Audio Oxygen 25 V
Re: Help neededI'll try a better explanation tomorrow. On the razz atm
Re: Help neededAnd thanks for the offer I'll point out again that it is only 32 bit.
Re: Help neededi am in, i will generate some Tangerine Dream struff
Yamaha CS-30, Roland SH-1, Roland MKS70, Focusrite Scarlett 18i6, Yamaha FS1R, Oberheim Matrix 1000, Novation Remote 37SL, Korg Legacy, Alesis M1Active 520, Novation Launchpad Pro, Push2, Intel i7-7700HQ
Re: Help neededI'll try it on this system which is 32 bit.
Off topic but why can't Flowstone or SynthEdit go 64 bit ? Technical brick wall or lack of incentive ? Anyway I'll have a go.....if you tell me what "on the razz" means...........
Re: Help needed
Synthedit will go 64 bit I believe. Flowstone probably not. I think it is a question of incentive. Going on the razz means a heavy night of drinking
Re: Help needed
I think that might be possible
Re: Help needed
32bit is fine, i have both installed. Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM
250GB SSD - 1TB HDD | M-Audio Oxygen 25 V
Re: Help neededSounds interesting and the demo is great. I even have flowstone if you want to share the .fsm file.
You might want to explain how it works, when you get sobered up.
Re: Help neededCan you guys PM me your email addresses so that I can send you the dll?
And thanks for the willingness to help!
Re: Help neededPM sent...........and thank you.......
Re: Help needed
SE has had a 64 bit beta programme going for a while now. A typical SE beta cycle can last several years, though, so it may not land for a while yet. I'm out of that stuff now, since I finally made the synths I'd wanted to make all along, so I haven't even installed SE on my last couple of laptops. Re: Help needed
Jeff just doing SE as a hobby ? Is that why the beta cycle is so long ? Seems like people have been asking for 64 bit for years now. Anyway off topic and just out of idle curiosity. Looking forward to Mark's Sequencer.
