Wavetables for DUNE2 and DUNE3 (£10 for lifetime upgrades)

I've just uploaded 71 patches in a zip file for DUNE3 to everyone's user area. They are mostly bread and butter sounds, but a few interesting experiments in there as well. There are also unique wavetables for several of the patches that use the new D3 wavetable editor.

There is also an updated sine phase change wavetable called MH OPL3_1 in wav and wt format. This is required for some patches that use audio rate modulation to do FM between oscillators. You might need to pop the wt version in to your wavetables folder.

Sorry for the slow reply. There are quite a few in DUNE2 format, i.e. usable in D2+3, but a lot more that are in wav format and usable in DUNE3, but can be exported from D3 in to D2 format.

Here's an early Christmas present from me for DUNE3 users.

It's a wavetable with 256 different waveforms to showcase an equation that I'm working on that combines three different types of modulation plus feedback in to the one equation. It makes for some quite natural sounding waveforms often with interesting formants, i.e., good for acoustic type sounds, but also others. It won't sound great for morphing - run individual frames through a filter or use them as modulation sources when doing audio rate stuff.

They were generated using random values for each modulation section.

I'm just in the process of collecting together some equations for use in the wavetable editor of DUNE3, but probably also adaptable to other synths with wavetable editors. These will be available to purchasers of the wavetable bundle available from the addres in my signature.

This will allow you to roll your own wavetables, to a certain extent.

In the meantime, I've just realised that typing an equation in to Google search will actually return a plot, which is good for exploring. What's more, if you separate equations with a comm you can visualize differnt equations at the same time. Paste the following in to Google search and marvel:

-sin(pi*x+0*sin(pi*x)),-sin(pi*x+1*sin(pi*x)),-sin(pi*x+2*sin(pi*x)) from -1 to 1

The individual equations, e.g., -sin(pi*x+2*sin(pi*x)) can be used directly in the DUNE3 editor.

More fun is to use the y variable to fill up a whole table rather than just one slot, i.e,:

-sin(pi*x+amp*y*sin(pi*x))

This is the formula for Yamaha 2 operator FM. Replace amp with a number of your choosing. The range for y is 0-to-1. Pasting this equation in to Google search will give you a 3D plot, which can be rotated - not all browsers can do this. You will need to set the range for y from 0-to-1 at the bottom right of the plot.

Yes but I just grabbed the string before reading your whole post. It made a pretty picture on Google so the next natural step was to throw it in D3.
