PiracyModerators: Christophe, Mark PiracyI thought that was Vince Clarke Rich? Hell, it used to be ME up until about 2 years ago. :superlol:
It's ironic too that when Casio and Yamaha and all were making these 'teeny-tiny' keyboards, I never recall seeing any 'chained down' in a music store? I actually paid $100 for a Casio VL Tone... And I could've just stuck that in my pocket and walked out of the store with it. :idiot: How does that saying go... 'Paybacks a bitch!'
PiracyHe's a classic pillager of whole musical phrases from sources not of his own creation. That is to say he seems to enjoy the MC Hammer/Vanilla Ice route when producing. The stuff that he does seem to create wholly on his own is utter crap, but to be honest I don't actively seek it out. In the past I have unfortunately been force fed it when within earshot of any broadcast device which includes advertising.
Mofo's gotta make some cash, but Moby is 'sell-out' personified. Congrats Moby, you wanker.

No idea what gear he uses, but since he's been around for some time, he probably uses hardware. Admin - Synapse Audio Software

Piracy
The one that really let me down is that song and video with him and the star shaped sunglasses as he's walking around NY. I thought 'damn, this guys got more black in him than me!' And then someone played me the original tune Moby got it from... To me it didn't sound like he touched it at all??? Took the groups name off and put his own on it? Respect for maxing 'Play' as he did, but that one tune should've brought him down worse than The Verve vs. Rolling Stones.
Piracy
Holy smokes! That last time I saw him, he had this specialised geo-desic studio in the backyard packed to the teeth with modular stuff that'd make Bob Moog pee his pants! And now he's like me; wee keyboard and a screen... But I still have more hair than he does - naaa-na-naa-naaaaaaa-na! And can anyone tell what he's using there? Didn't look like OP to me? Maybe he's still on W2K at least....? (Don't let me down Vince! )
Piracy
I think it was 'Body Rock' or something like that.

PiracyYes, it's Logic. He's also dabbling with Reaktor I believe. He switched to software when he moved to the States and wasn't able to move everything with him. Or more like his new wife at the time didn't want him to. Women always get in the way of gear lust, don't they?
PiracyThanks CB - 'Body Rock' indeed it is! Now I can't remember the original band that did it - but probably might surface on a Google search? But as I recall, some 80's band - and had the goods down great. Sadly, I guess it never became a hit - till Moby found it in a bargin bin and used magic marker to write is name in.
Too funny mark! Damn bitches! :superlol: Since when did Vince move to the States? (As the topic gets totally 'pirated' now...)
PiracyI think it was 2004. I'm quite lucky in terms of expanding my gear. The wife freely admits that she wouldn't notice if I added anything new because evrything looks the same to her. I see where she's coming from with the normally black rack gear, but I'm sat here with my blue Novation Nova and she hasn't even noticed that as being new in the past year. What she did notice however was a small silver Behringer EQ unit that I got recently. I was truthfully able to tell her I got it for a tenner off E-bay. I guess she noticed it because it's shiny. I just got a Roland MKS-50 for peanuts. Did she notice it? No, because it's a black rackmount
PiracyIt's the shiny stuff that catches their eye everytime. I warned Yamaha and Alesis and everyone 'Don't go silver or shiny, or your sales will go down, and returns will leave stores packed for decades!' And they were all like 'Well keyboardists complain they can't be seen playing anything on stage...?' And I was like 'If I was a chick in the crowd and saw a dude at stage right with a 3ft black stripe at his crotch... Who do you think I'd go to backstage first to see?' And they were all like 'Oh no you dedent!' And I was like 'I did it with Nick Rhodes, and we're not even gay! How about that?' And they were like....
Thanks for the Vince update as well. That's been 10 years ago since I last saw anything about him. Last edited by Dungeon Studio on Mon Jan 26, 2009 10:36 pm, edited 1 time in total.

I often add new stuff into my computer under my girlfriend's radar, but I recently bought a cpu cooler that glows an intense blue and she must wonder why there's a beam of light shooting out of every open hole in my PC case. PiracyBack to piracy - it's A LOT easier to sneak in stuff under noses via software. But when you go getting coolers and USB coffee warmers and custom paint jobs... A bit trickier.
"Okay, so I blew like $60 at Radio Shack... But I just downloaded $6000 worth of crap you'll never know. That and the porn...." If we could only be THAT honest with women. :superlol:
