When I'm mixing the music in Orion I have a habit of turning the volume up which pisses me off. It's much better to mix with low volume because the ears listen longer.
Also If I pan the main master mixer (the whole way through the track making stage) to the left channel I find the quality of my mix is better when I centre the pan at the end. This is due to my room acoustics being pure crap!
I know this has nothing to do with this thread but thought I'd write it anyway because I'm so bored!

orion is $99 wtf?
I'll take sound quality over features any day. For the record, I have not used WaveFusion in a song in 7 or 8 years, it actually doesn't suit me or our music as much as a lot of other things, but that's not how I judge the worth of a synth.
Have a fucking whinge, Dave! I am 100% objective about this stuff and, like I said, I don't use WaveFusion at all. Dell G7 (Hexa-Core i7)|Cubase Pro 10||Analog Keys|Ultranova|MicroMonsta|Uno|Skulpt|Craft Synth 2.0|

orion is $99 wtf? There's nothing wrong with WaveFusion FFS. Why do people belittle it?

What about ease of use and intuitive workflow? I think it excels in those areas as well, though it's partly an issue of taste (but not entirely. Is it really possible to say that the workflow in Cubase is easier and more intuitive than in Orion? I mean, come on. Not that I've tried Cubase, but if half of the things I've read is true...) orion is $99 wtf?As i see the current status of orion in forums like KVR its close to live its best days till now. People start to like it.

orion is $99 wtf?For me, Orion's like a 3rd party politcal canidate... The Ralph Nader of music hosts.
It's not out to impress and win over the 'old schools', cater for and cave in to every lobbyist that comes knocking (though lately here...?), and knows it's ideologies and expectations are a bit hard to swallow - but if given just a chance. So like Ralph and H. Ross, and the likes, it's the market imbalance they create - the gap in the polls, the possibility of sway... Basically competitive 'fear'. And I'm sure Rich isn't dreaming too hard of winning over Cubase and Logic users. But to simply have and say 'there is a working alternative people' - it wins crackpots like me and other 'non-comformist loyalists' over. (how's that for a oxymoron?) And when others say 'Wow! People are actually using it, and using it well...' That's when Cubase, and Propellerheads and the like start to sweat. If synth manufacturers could agree upon and implement MIDI after 5 years...If Microsoft can bend to Apple's format after 15 years - why not Cubase to Orion? That old things been around for over 20 years. Might do them good to reconsider. That's why I so strongly urge Rich to hold on to his ideals, and stay away from the wannabees. He just might be the new black leader for America someday!

sound quality? the ones ive been using sound great, they just have more features/options...so its a no brainer for me. for the record, im talking about Zebra and Alchemy (i also own just about every other VST there is, but rarely use them) Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

Alchemy has been released last month, it's brand-new, and Zebra isn't that old either, at least compared to the almost 10yr old WF. The price tag is also several times of the complete Orion suite. If I make something completely new, it'd meet the highest quality standards, otherwise I wouldn't make it in the first place as I'm well aware of what plugins can do. But a lot of stuff in Orion won't be outclassed anytime soon- like I said previously, the Toxics, WASP-5, DrumRack/Sampler with 24bit and 32-bit support as well as support for all the pro formats etc. Admin - Synapse Audio Software

orion is $99 wtf?dont take it the wrong way rich (nice to se you reply to one of my posts tho) but Bones seems to think the world of music starts and ends with WaspXT and doesnt realise not everyone makes a song using 4 instruments and a simple drumbeat, with some sci-fi vox thrown in.
what sounds good to you, doesnt sound good to me, and vice versa... Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

orion is $99 wtf?I wouldn't say Bones is THAT bad Krim? Heck, the guy makes and uses mostly his own SE 'pHYLIS kILLER' synths in Orion as well. I like Orion synths too, but find them really 'Euro 80's' in their sound and presets from the get go. BUT - they certainly aren't limited to that. And just like a music store with umpteen keyboards, it's going to be that one off in the corner with the one lone light on it for me, or the one at the bottom of the rack. Just that certain preset, that certain little riff I play on it - that's MY synth! Whether it's $100, or $10,000, that's my baby! So no fault to Rich or OP, but it's one heck of a music store we get to walk through. AND, it's so nice they can get in 'specialty items' as well.
