logic express 8?a friend of mine is getting it. seems to be interested in music making all of a sudden. now from a curiosity point of view what do you guys think of it? yeah i recommended him orion obviously. but its not on mac
logic express 8?Logic is dead, most users, pros and amateurs alike, have already jumped the ship.
It has evolved way too slowly in the past years. Mac users now have the choice between C5 & Live. Admin - Synapse Audio Software

logic express 8?For audio stuff- it lacks many essential functions as a virtual studio, I don't even think it supports VST!

logic express 8?thanks rich....but i wont be passing this info to him. every time he asks my opinion, i give him good advice and he goes and does the opposite thing. so better to keep the good advice to yourself. that will be my motto.
logic express 8?If he's just starting out why doesn't he start with GarageBand?
logic express 8?dont know man....really dont know.
logic express 8?Just tell him Logic Express is what everybody uses then, that there's absolutely no alternative, and he MUST use it to consider himself pro

logic express 8?I was going to say that. Reverse psychology at it's best.

People say Pro-Tools 8 is much much better than previous versions, and able to compete with Logic and Cubase. Not saying if I believe the hype or not though. your right about the VST thing. Pro-Tools supports only RTAS and TDM. Although the vst wrapper from FXpansion seems to work pretty good. The major flaw of Pro-Tools for me (besides lack of good MIDI functionality, which is suppose to have improved a lot with V8), is it's GUI. Totally not sexy, and counter-intuitive.
logic express 8?On KVR I read the VST wrapper works poorly. It's not going to be more than a workaround anyways and it'll never support VST nearly as good as Orion or other pure VST hosts. Then there's the sequencer which is not pattern-based, etc. etc...
It's a DAW not a SSW so PT and Orion are really opposites of each other. Admin - Synapse Audio Software

I feel for you on that one. Have a guy, always comes for an advice, but always goes and asks other, does stupid things, and then comes to me and says "I should have listened to you". This kind of people will always be like that, nothing we can do about it, except to refuse to give any advice. But, I'm more to help if I can, so it kind of gets to me then. SoundCloud ::: Facebook
logic express 8?Is that available for Mac? Ooh, another reason to buy an over-priced, over-hyped heap of junk.
