Prepping and sharing a patch bank file

Postby DonnieAlan » Sat Feb 09, 2019 3:51 pm

I have a small (30 or so) bank of patches I've created in Dune 3, some with my own wave tables. I want to send them to a friend who also has D3. What's the best way to prep these for sharing, and where does he need to put everything on the other end so he can use them? I created a folder for them in the Dune 3 patch folder so they are easily accessible from the D3 browser. I'm unsure how the D3 WT should go. I created a folder for my WT's and put that folder in the same same folder as the D3 factory WTs, so I can easily browse to them with the WT menu. So, when I create a patch using one of my WTs, I assume its accessing my WT from that folder? And if I share all this with someone else, they need to put my folder in the same place? Or does it matter?

Is there anything else I need to do so all my friend has to do is unzip the file and use the patches?

put your preset files in a folder, tell him to put that folder in Dunes Soundbank folder

all your wts go in the Wavetable folder (or a sub folder if you prefer)

Okay. Thank you. I have some patches I created using WTs I created and I put those in a subfolder and the patches in the main "my patches" folder. When my friend gets those, and puts the folders in the proper place, will D3 be able to locate my WTs for those patches I created using them? I ask because, I've had instances with D-2 where it couldn't find the WT's even though they were right there in the same subfolder in the WT folder where they were originally saved.

if the path is the same, shouldnt be a problem

ie

I know it 'shouldn't' be a problem, but it has been a couple times in the past with D2 for me, though I'm not sure why. But thanks for the info!
