Again I don't find Tomcat too bad. Especially with CC's trick of applying Saturation to it. Everything has their own unique sound.
I'm waiting for the day when 'Blister Pound' becomes the new style, and people will kill for that authentic TomCat sound made popular in the cult classic Orion Platinum software.
Should I serve your hat hot or cold to you at that point Rich?

I thought that post read differently last night.

It depends on what music you're up to. The typical club stuff these days is like EKS-9 and BazzISM alike. For trance I would go for some samples maybe even though, sampled kicks are never my first choice as you have to create the bassline around them instead beeing able to modify the bass as well as the kick to make it fit to the track.

150 euro for a kick? Why not.
Lill' Tip for KickHoly cow! That is a bit much Krim! But too, I think so much can be done with a typical 909 kick or what not just with filter, pitch, saturation/distortion, ring mod, etc. Maybe not as quick to get 'that sound' like Dazoid points out. But I'm always amazed 'that sound' is always new to begin with - someone fooling with a FM kick, Tomcat, a KPR-77 on the cheap, a R5 through a guitar pedal... Then everyone wants EKS-9 or Drumaxx or something to do 'that sound' as quickly and identically as possible. Though I never recall the demand upon real 909's or Linn Drums et al back in the day to sound like a Ludwig or Tama set. People were lucky if something got even halfways close.
Yet, the 909 and Linn et al certainly made 'that sound' that drummers eventually had to incorporate into their Tama and Ludwig kits somehow. Nice change of heart Rich. You don't like eating hats I guess?

Just registered BazzISM. The registration process was super fast. Thomas send me the registration code after a couple of hours. BazzISM rocks! Just integrating it into my new track. One of the last pieces missing... :smiele2: Will send new track soon! Hard and honest electro track. Last edited by DaZoid on Sun Mar 28, 2010 7:57 am, edited 1 time in total.
