Hi guys
I dream about being able to do a remix of some of my idols songs. But I could not find the solution to be able to sort of vocal from music and music from Vocal. So I eventually have either vocal as I can put in my music or music I can sing into and have my own vocals in the song.
it is not possible without the vocal track bred from the original recording, production?
Cheers

Re: sort of vocal and music. You did post the same message a couple of weeks ago.
You can't seperate the vocals from the original track. You need the track without the vocals which you will not get from the owner. There might be people with extreme high end gear and software who could seperate the original vocals from the track. But not sure... But absolutely sure that with your gear, you will not be able to do it propperly. Search the web. Maybe you are lucky and find a Karaoke version of your song. Then stream it and use the .wav file in Orion.
Re: sort of vocal and music. You don't need expensive high end hardware to do that, at least i don't.
what you do need is the instrumental for the track you want the vocals to be apart off. What i do when i only need the vocals is as follows: 1 grab Audacity (freeware) 2 import song / mp3. 3 Split audio track 4 import instrumental version. 5 select only instrumental version in go to Effects-> Invert. -Almost done, when you listen to the instrumental itself it sounds normal but together with the original file it will flat out frequencies played in the instrumental @ the original track so the only thing left is the vocal (since its almost always centered in the audiofield, if it sounds like there is still a lot off background noise you'll have to align it so it plays in sync. here is a example @ YT (not from me, tho) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_p5QC-4jGWA&feature=fvst Good luck!! if you want to go fast......then go alone.
if you want to go far......go together.
Re: sort of vocal and music.
Dude! I think that's exactly his problem. He does not have an instrumental version of the track. As far as I understood from his post.
Re: sort of vocal and music. There isn't a process to separate tracks from the already mixed material that will leave you with a good enough vocals to do remixes. I've done it once (without an instrumental track), using a noise reduction, took a very long time to do, the result was degraded sound, but since I only needed like 15 seconds of it, it served the purpose.
Best bet is to search for good quality Acapellas. I think you just might find what you're looking for, though don't even think about releasing such thing, as I'm not quite sure it's 100% legal. SoundCloud ::: Facebook
Re: sort of vocal and music.there are lots of sites that offer stems of songs to remix, your best bet is to search around and see what you can finf
there are tons aof acapella's on the net too, most illegal probably, but if you grab them, then grab the MIDI file of the original song too, you can do a remix that way. Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

Re: sort of vocal and music.there are tricks that involve setting the L and R at 180 out of phase and using EQ and noise reduction, etc.. I'm not sure how successful they are, but I believe those techniques are part of many mashups.
Re: sort of vocal and music. It's simply impossible to get a clean vocal track extracted out of a mixed material, even with the instrumental track.
The simple thinking is that the instrumental would cancel the musical part of the song and leave just vocals, which is wrong. The voice spreads so much in the spectrum, that's simply impossible to get it clean. Cancellation, noise reduction and other techniques out there that "might" do the job, simply can't do it good enough to not affect the frequencies of the vocal. SoundCloud ::: Facebook
Re: sort of vocal and music.the method V/M mentioned is actually for removing the vocal, so you are left with an instrumental, and it works pretty well too, thats why there are quite a few 'voacl removal' tools around, but zero 'vocal isolators'
