Dune 3 is still my best sounding synth, but i noticed that i hit a wall with big sounding edm leads.
While the fx quality of dune is great, I found with extensive testing with external fx, that I can get better results when using a reverb plugin that supports "ducking". You can set a certain dry signal level (threshold) at which the reverb output is limited, a bit like a compressor.
When using this, some leads which where previously drowned in reverb really start to shine. Of course i know about the pre delay feature, but with varying rhytm in your lead lines, this does not cut it. And keep using my external plugin also does not cut it, because its outside the chain of all other hq Dune fx that sometimes come after the reverb.
In general it would get Dune 3 more production ready.
So I hope this feature for the reverb fx could be considered in the future.
Note: KSHMR reverb has extensive ducking features and also a feature called reverse feedback. But the general reverb quality of Dune is much better imo. (Another reason its best to keep using Dunes reverb) But might be nice to check that out.
Thnx CC

Re: Dune 3 - reverb ducking feature. You can use MSEGs to Reverb Dry/Wet Amt.
Just draw a rising sawtooth in MSEG1, change the curvature to taste, and keep a note pressed you will hear the reverb fade in. Add another zero point after the start point and change it's position to effect some pre-delay. The only problem with this is that you need to keep the note pressed to hear the delay. An alternative is to use note off in the MSEG. That way the reverb will fade in after you release the key and is much more musical. Even better is to use two MSEGs and combine both approaches above. You can get some interesting effects with this. I set both MSEG amounts to +50, but you can vary this obviously, as well as the reverb times etc. An exponential curve for the MSEG will sound similar to a reverse reverb - you might want to increase reverb time for this. You can also get even more creative by doing trance style gating.
Re: Dune 3 - reverb ducking feature.Great, thnx for these tips. Will try them tonight!
