Hi guys,
Would it be possible to add a "keyboard range" feature for imported samples? That way it would be possible to create multi samples by loading1 sample per voice and select the notes range for each sample. Stacking several samples with their own range each would amount to having a multi sample.
Thanks

Re: Request for keyboard range for samplesAsked for it, answer was no
Asked for each layer to have the same years ago, answer was no. Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

Re: Request for keyboard range for samplestoo bad. Was there any reason for it being denied? Having the possibility of having multi samples (+ some more arps for the other voices) would definitely make Dune the best synth ever. Dune is for vitual synths what the Virus is for hardware
Re: Request for keyboard range for samplesWell if we supported keyboard ranges per WAV/layer, we may as well add SFZ support directly to make it a whole lot easier for you to begin with
The reason for not adding keyboard ranges though is that D3 is not constructed as a rompler, but as a pure synthesizer. Features like the analog-style mono-legato mode for instance are not possible with a multisample. Another example of a feature that is incompatible with multi-samples is the new Genetics function introduced in v3.5, which seems to get quite some love Yet another big difference is the sheer size of multi-samples, requiring external storage and generally preventing all sorts of quick transitions/morphs or other ideas. Technically it is possible to add sfz support to D3 of course. It is kinda like having two instruments in one though, with conflicting feature sets. Admin - Synapse Audio Software

Re: Request for keyboard range for samplesOK it makes perfect sense. Mind you I have other synths that enable multi sample import, but unfortunately, they don't have an arpegiator as easy of use as Dune3. And Dune3's effects are dope IMHO.
And you're right, about Genetics, which I've been using for about 3 weeks now, and what can I say? wow! The possibilities are endless, and the sounds that come out of it, after a bit of tweaking, are quite usable in a track. It makes sound design so easy, and just a click away. In some cases, the result is mind blowing and unheard of
