Oscillator phase positionPlease add that

Re: Oscillator phase positionI know about this but it doesnt do what i require
If i set Phase Init and assign it to LFO, phase isnt modulated like analog synths do. I can do this for example in Serum and some other synths but not in Dune 3. I can mimic similar behaviour with fine tune tho, but i cant do it the extremes because the desired behaviour becomes different
Re: Oscillator phase positionOscillators are free running by default, just like an analogue synth.
What exactly is the behaviour you require? Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

Re: Oscillator phase position
I'm not aware of any analogue synths that can modulate phase. Frequency yes and D3 can do this. Phase modulation is what happens in Yamaha DX synths and other so called 'FM' synths. You can do something similar using a single cycle sample in Osc3. Load up a sample, it doesn't matter what size it is as long as it's a single cycle. Turn down Osc1 volume and turn Osc3 volume up. In the mod matrix, insert Const +50 Osc3 SamplePos. In the next entry, insert Osc1 0 MM Amount 1 In the next entry, insert MSEG1 (or whatever) +50 (or less to taste) MM Amount 2 You could leave the amount at zero and add a further modulation entry to velocity modulate the effect: Velocity +50 MM Amount 3 Best to start with a sine for Osc1, or any other low harmonic waveform. Similar for Osc3, but of course experiment with waveform and modulation amounts and sources. This is phase modulation, but more akin to waveshaping, which the DX synths can also do. HTH!
Re: Oscillator phase positionI forgot to add that modulation rate settings, in the settings tab, needed to be at the highest setting, unless you want it a bit grungy and aliased!
Re: Oscillator phase position
Not exactly. Yes they are free runing, but when you have two oscillator mixed there is a slight phase deviation running. I have uploaded mp3 file, i recorded my analog synth Uno Pro runing 2 oscillators. Actually most of Analog emulations does behave like that including The Legend and Obsession and many others https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/qa0exqzn ... d8ipz&dl=0
Re: Oscillator phase positionYes, exactly how free running oscillators work.
If you want a fixed phase, use the Mod Matrix Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

Re: Oscillator phase position
But in dune 3 you dont have these phase deviations like you do on analog gear or The Legend or OBsession. Also you dont have in many other VA synths, but you can mimic that by routing LFO to Phase position (even when its set in free mode) NWM increasing fine tune a bit gives me those deviations
Re: Oscillator phase positionThe phase of an osc will only change on note on, not while it's playing. If the LFO doesn't work (don't know why it wouldn't, you should check on an oscilloscope, its not something you would hear) then use Randon source.
