DUNE3 Macro Knoobs

Hey guys,
im a dune user since vers. 2.0 and use this since many years ago, i´m a studio producer & sound designer based in germany (bavaria). And her´s my suggestion, im not sure if its asked in the past, if yes, sorry for that and kill this thread

It would be great to integrate some Macro Knoobs where i can route some "Master Elements" like Vital/Serum... So we can create a easy automation by a Macro. What do you think about that?

Hi JanTrace & welcome to the forum!

Essentially you can do this already by using the modulation matrix. In many factory presets the modulation wheel is used as a kind of macro controller, affecting multiple sound parameters at once. In order to have more than just one macro controller, additional sources like the Foot or Expression pedal can be used. This has the additional benefit that those macro controllers are already linked to a specific MIDI CC and can thus be tweaked via hardware right away.

Yes of course, i known the power of modulation matrix, i hope so, after many years by using and sound creation. Im not sure, but the full matrix power i´vent expand in my head )) But the Macro Control like i mean, is´nt included in moment. of course, you can do by your way, principle is it only an second, third, ... Modulation wheel where you can bind some parameters to change, right now, but it would be cool if you have more of that knoobs so the way is easyer to change or to give some other parameters to an Macro, like ModWheel.

Something simple like Parawave Rapid's 3 macros at the top would be great. I find this synth the most similar to Dune in that it has a similar 8 layer system. It can be really handy to control things like the amp attack and decay with these.

As Richard said, all this can be done easily enough from the mod matrix. Set your different sources and destinations and MIDI learn the amounts to quickly have control over everything. DUNE3 remembers your mod matrix assignments across different patches.

You can even have sources controlling other mod matrix entries, thus allowing more complex control of your macros.

Im at least aware of the "Const" as a Macro control in the mod matrix. I still think knobs on the actual synth would be nice in the case that you don't want to access the mod matrix and don't use your midi controller as an assigned source. Also maybe im missing it but i dont see a way to have one macro (Const in this case) control multiple parameters.

Anyways, its just a suggestion for something I'd find and maybe others would as a workflow improvement.

Thats correctly, thats only an idea, i think also, that will makes the workflow smoother for someone, incl. me

Oh ok, its sounds like this, like your repeating by richards message. Like i called, its only an idea, and would be placed perfectly in the sections page where you have all parameters, LFO´s MSG, FX etc. so give them an new section "Macros".

But maybe, Richard & Mike youre right, maybe i´m not understand the Matrix sector not correctly... i work with Dune since start of release, but the Matrix is a little bit wired for me in comparison to, Serum, Vital, or some other. i can work with, no problem, but i´ve the feeling, i´m use maybe 20-30% of this.
